Forever Forest & Winter Owls Card

For this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge I created a card using the colors from a sheet of the new September-December 2023 Mini Catalog Garden Walk Designer Series Paper as my color pallet with the Forever Forest bundle,and the Winter Owls bundle.

Start with a Pretty Peacock cardstock card base. Cut a Garden Walk Designer Series Paper panel. Die cut three Pretty Peacock cardstock mountains with the Forever Forest dies. Use glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to layer the mountains to the middle of the Designer Series Paper panel. Cut a Basic White cardstock panel. Stamp the trees image from the Forever Forest stamp set in full & 2nd generation Lost Lagoon ink across the Basic White cardstock panel. Tear the top edge of the Basic White cardstock with the tree line and glue it to the card front so it’s flush with the bottom of the Designer Series Paper panel and the bottom of the mountains.

Die cut several Lost Lagoon cardstock trees with the three smallest dies from the Forever Forest dies. Use glue to add the trees to the bottom of the Designer Series Paper panel from the sides. Die cut a Pool Party cardstock owl & two wings with the Winter Owls die. Glue the wings to the owl. Fussy cut a Vellum cardstock owl backing layer by using Stampin’ Seal to attach the Pool Party cardstock built owl to the Vellum cardstock and then use paper snips to fussy cut around the owl. Add back a few of the die cut feathers using a tiny bit of glue. Use the Bone Folder to slightly curve the owl’s wings. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the built owl to the middle of the Designer Series Paper panel. Die cut three Basic White cardstock clouds with the Forever Forest dies. Use glue to add them to the Designer Series Paper panel. Use paper snips to cut off any access cardstock so all is flush with the the Designer Series Paper panel and then glue the built panel to the card base.

Stamp the sentiment from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink on Basic White cardstock. Use paper snips to fussy cut out the sentiment. Using the sentiment to fussy cut a Pretty Peacock cardstock panel layer. Glue the sentiment to the Pretty Peacock cardstock panel layer and then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the sentiment panels to the top right of the card front. Add Adhesive-Backed Glittered Sequins to the card front.

Cut a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Cut two strips of Basic White cardstock and stamp the trees image from the Forever Forest stamp set in full & 2nd generation Lost Lagoon ink. Cut strips of Designer Series Paper. Glue the stamped strips and the Designer Series Paper strips to the inside and back of the card. Stamp the owl image from the Winter Owls stamp set in Pool Party ink and the sentiment from the Waves of Inspirations in Pretty Peacock ink on the bottom of the inside panel.

Pretty Peacock cs card base – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″.
Garden Walk DSP panel – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ plus two 1/8″ x 4″ strips.
Pretty Peacock cs mountains – three (4 1/4) die cut with the Forever Forest dies.
Basic White cs foreground – 2″ x 4 1/4″ torn top edge.
Lost Lagoon cs trees – die cut with Forever Forest dies.
Basic White cs clouds – three die cut with the Forever Forest dies.
Pool Party cs owl & two wings – die cut with the Winter Owls dies.
Basic White cs sentiment panel – (5/8″ x 1 1/4″) fussy cut with paper snips.
Pretty Peacock cs sentiment panel layer – (3/4″ x 1 1/2″) fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.
Basic White cs strips – two 1/2″ x 4″ strips.
