Global Design Project 195 – Theme Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project theme challenge is Balloons. I thought the heart image from the Meant To Be stamp set die cut out with the Stitched Be Mine dies look like Mylar balloons. I added the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the sponged Rococo Rose ink on the Very Vanilla cs panel edges and the Rococo Rose cs balloons to give this fun fold card a vintage look that sparkles.

Start by cutting all of the Rococo Rose cs & Crumb Cake cs panel layers and the Rococo Rose cs closure flap. Score the Rococo Rose closer flap and the card front panel layer – use the Bone Folder to burnish the scored fold lines. Then dry emboss all the panels with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.

Add Crumb Cake ink and Rococo Rose ink with sponge daubers around the edges of the embossed Crumb Cake cs panels.

Cut the Very Vanilla cs panel layers. With a sponge dauber add Rococo Rose ink to the edges of the Very Vanilla panels. I used a small flat paint brush to add Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint over the sponged Rococo Rose ink on the Very Vanilla cs panels.

Stamp the striped heart image (5) from the Meant To Be stamp set on Rococo Rose cs. On a separate piece of Rococo Rose cs paint on some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint – covering enough to die cut out 2 hearts when dry. Die cut out all the hearts with the Stitched Be Mine dies. Add Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the edges of the scalloped stitched heart balloons. Sponge the edges of the Champagne Mist heart balloons with Crumb Cake ink.

Die cut out 2 scalloped ovals with the Layering Ovals dies from Crumb Cake cs and then sponge the edges on both sides with the Crumb Cake ink. Die cut out 1 oval with the Layering Ovals dies from the Rococo Rose cs. Dry emboss the sponged Crumb Cake scalloped ovals and the Rococo Rose oval with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. Die cut 2 Very Vanilla cs ovals with the Layering Ovals Dies, sponge it with the Rococo Rose ink, and then paint the edges with the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.

Stamp the sentiment from the First Frost stamp set in Early Espresso ink on one of the sponged and Champagne Mist Very Vanilla cs ovals and stamp the sentiment from the Magnolia Blooms stamp set in Early Espresso ink on the other.

Stamp the clouds from the Above The Clouds stamp set in 2nd generation (stamped off) Crumb Cake ink on the sponged Champagne Mist Very Vanilla card front panel layer. Use glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere 3 striped balloons and the two Champagne Mist balloons to the stamped Very Vanilla cs card front. With an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker draw strings from the heart balloons.

Stamp the sentiment from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set in Early Espresso ink on the sponged and Champagne Mist Very Vanilla cs inside layer panel. Glue a stripped heart to lower right side of the inside Very Vanilla cs layer and then use the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to draw in a string from the balloon.

To build your Fun Fold – start with adding Tear and Tape to both sides of the 1/2″ scored flaps of the embossed Rococo Rose closure flap and card front panel layer and attach them to the back of the sponged & embossed Crumb Cake card base layer panel. Use more Tear & Tape to attach the sponged & embossed Crumb Cake cs card base panel to the embossed Rococo Rose cs card base panel.

Glue the stamped, sponged & Champagne Mist Very Vanilla cs inside layer panel to the sponged & embossed Crumb Cake cs card base panel.

Glue the sponged & embossed Crumb Cake cs card front layer panel to the embossed Rococo Rose cs card front panel. Glue the stamped, sponged, Champagne Mist balloon Very Vanilla cs card front onto the sponged & embossed Crumb Cake cs card front layer panel.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the largest sponged scalloped Crumb Cake cs oval to the front side of the embossed Rococo Rose cs closure flap. Glue the embossed Rococo Rose cs oval to the Crumb Cake cs scalloped oval. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the stamped sentiment from the Magnolia Blooms stamp set sponged & Champagne Mist Very Vanilla cs oval to the embossed Rococo Rose cs oval.

On the back side of the embossed Rococo Rose cs closure flap use glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the small sponged & embossed scalloped Crumb Cake cs oval to the closure flap and the back of the front side’s Crumb Cake cs scalloped oval. Glue the stamped (First Frost stamp set sentiment), sponged, & Champagne Mist Very Vanilla cs oval to the smaller scalloped Crumb Cake cs oval.

Color rhinestones with the Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blend and adhere them to the card front around the card front balloons and sentiment layer.

Don’t forget to finish your card with stamping the sentiment on the back and adding a die cut striped heart balloon and string to pull the theme through.
