Finishing Touches

I modified this “Finishing Touches” blog post from July 27, 2018.

I’ve been enjoying staying out of the heat by playing with the Sea of Textures stamp set & the Under The Sea dies, and the Magical Mermaid stamp set with the Brusho (substitute with the Pigment Sprinkles) bubble wrap backgrounds.

I usually use Whisper White or Very Vanilla for card bases and occasionally some of the lighter colors of cardstock, but for the Brusho bubble wrap background, the darker cardstock looked better as the card base. When using a darker cardstock you need to include a piece of Whisper White cs or Very Vanilla cs on the inside of the card so you can write your message. I like to carry the theme to the inside of the card by stamping on the bottom edge of the cardstock.

I feel that a card is ‘naked’ without stamping on the back of the card as well. I will sometimes cut a scrap of DSP or in this case a small strip of the Brusho bubble wrap background to adhere on the back. I also like to stamp the greeting and even an inspirational message on the back. The message on the back of this card is from retired All Good Things stamp set.
