Stampin’ Up! New Adventure Turtle Retirement Card

Card Measurements, Supply List, and printable PDF tutorial for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

I love the Whale of a Time DSP from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog and the retiring 2019-2021 In Color Pretty Peacock. I created this week’s fun Global Design Project Sketch Challenge card using this fabulous DSP with fussy cut turtles, and using elements from the Flowering Cactus Product Medley.

Start with a Pretty Peacock cs card base. Cut the two Whale of a Time DSP panels. Glue the larger DSP panel to the card base and then glue the smaller DSP panel centered to the right – leaving a strip of the larger DSP showing on the left.

Cut the Basic White cs panel. Die cut out a Pretty Peacock cs ‘adventure’ from the Sweet Silhouettes Dies. Use glue to add the ‘adventure’ to the Basic White cs panel. Cut the Basic White cs sentiment panel and the Whale of a Time DSP sentiment panel layer. Stamp the sentiment from the Well Said stamp set using the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write Marker to ink the portion of the sentiment (Time for a New) on the Basic White cs sentiment panel.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the stamped Basic White cs sentiment panel to the Whale of a Time DSP sentiment panel layer. Use glue dots to add the sentiment panels to the top right of the Basic White cs panel. Add the Stampin’ Seal to the back of the Basic White cs panel to adhere looped Calypso Coral & Linen Thread from the Flowering Cactus Product Medley (or Flowering Cactus Product Medley refill) on the back. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the Basic White cs panel/sentiment panels to the card front.

Fussy cut five turtles from the Whale of a Time DSP. Use glue, glue dots, and Stampin’ Dimensionals to add three turtles to the card front – one overlapping the sentiment panel with glue dots and doubling up the Stampin’ Dimensionals and the other two with glue below the Basic White cs panel.

Add Artistry Blooms Sequins to the card front for sparkle and add Calypso Coral felt flowers from the Flowering Cactus Product Medley (or Flowering Cactus Product Medley refill) to the sentiment panels and card front .

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink, added a strip of DSP & fussy cut turtles to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
