Stampin’ Up!® Flowering Cactus Heart Card

I created this fun card for this month’s Glimmer Gals Color Challenge from my fellow Glimmer Gal, Lorraine, with the awesome Flowering Cactus stamp set & dies from the Flowering Cactus Product Medley from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.

Start with the Gray Granite cs card base. Cut a Just Jade cs panel and a Petal Pink cs panel. Dry emboss both panels with the Subtle 3D embossing folder and glue the panels together. Wrap the embossed panels with a piece of Just Jade In Color ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends on the back of the panels and then glue the wrapped panels to the card base.

Die cut a Gray Granite cs stitched scalloped edged heart with the Many Hearts dies. Stamp the cactus in Just Jade ink and the flowers in Petal Pink ink from the Flowering Cactus stamp set on Basic White cs. Die cut out the cactus and flowers with the Flowering Cactus dies. I used my paper snips to cut down one double flower so I could layer the larger of the two flowers. Add Wink of Stella to the flowers. Glue the cactus to the Gray Granite cs stitched scalloped edged heart. Layer the flowers on the left side of the cactus with Stampin’ Dimensionals and glue dots. Add the stitched scalloped edged heart to the center of the card front overlapping the wrapped ribbon.

Use the Stamparatus to stamp the Many Messages stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cs. Die cut out the sentiments with the Messages die. Add the sentiment to the card front overlapping the cactus and stitched scalloped edged heart.

Tie a small bow with the Just Jade In Color ribbon and add it to the card front on the left side of the stitched scalloped edged heart overlapping the ribbon. Add 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots to the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set in Just Jade ink and added a strip of embossed Just Jade cs to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Embossed Petal Pink cs panel – 5″ x 3/4″.
Gray Granite cs stitched scalloped edged heart – die cut with the Many Hearts Dies.
Basic White cs cactus & flowers – die cut with the Flowering Cactus dies.
Basic White cs sentiment – die cut with the Messages die.
Basic White cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.
