Sea Turtle Hello Card

For the Global Design Project Two-Week Sketch Challenge I used the upcoming Reversable Sea Turtle stamp set and the upcoming By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love both of these January -April 2023 Mini Catalog products that will be available to purchase in my Online Store starting January 5th.

Start with a Mint Macaron cardstock card base. Cut a Gold Distressed Specialty Paper panel and By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper panel. Glue the By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper panel to the Gold Distressed Specialty Paper panel and then glue the panels to the card base.

Use the Stamparatus to stamp the large turtle and the small turtle images from the Sea Turtle stamp set in Mint Macaron ink on Basic White cardstock. Color the turtles with the Light Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blend and then fussy cut out the turtles with paper snips. Add Wink of Stella to the turtles for sparkle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the turtles to the card front.

Lightly dust a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock with the Embossing Buddy powder (from the Embossing Additions Tool Kit). Stamp the sentiment from the Simply Fabulous stamp set in Versamark ink on the dusted Basic White cardstock scrap. Add the Gold embossing powder over the stamped sentiment, tap to remove excess powder, and then melt the powder with the Heat Tool. Fussy cut out the embossed sentiment with paper snips. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals and glue dots to add the embossed sentiment to the card front overlapping the turtles. Add gold sequins from the Pastel Adhesive – Backed Sequins to the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. I stamped the small turtle from the Sea Turtle stamp set in Mint Macaron ink and color with Light Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blend. Add Wink of Stella to the turtle for sparkle. Glue a strip of By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Mint Macaron cs card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.
Distressed Gold Specialty Paper panel – 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.
By The Bay Specialty DSP panel – 4″ x 5 1/4″ plus two 1/2″ x 4″ strips.
Basic White cs turtles – 1 large & one small fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs sentiment panel – fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs inside panel – 3 7/8″ x 4 1/8″.
