Welcome and Thank you for visiting Christy’s Stamping Spot! I’m Christy, an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Southern Arizona, USA. I’m excited to be taking part in the Inspirations in Ink Blog Hop with this fabulous group of Demonstrators!
This month we are focusing on different coloring techniques. For my Share A Milkshake bundle card I’m using heat embossing to give my Sweet Sorbet ice cream scoop and sentiment added shine and texture.
Start with a Sweet Sorbet cardstock card base. Cut a Country Gingham Designer Series Paper panel and a Soft Suede cardstock panel. Dry emboss the Soft Suede cardstock panel with the subtle lined Basics 3D embossing folders. Glue the Designer Series Paper panel and the embossed panel to the card base.
Die cut a Very Vanilla cardstock scalloped stitched rectangle with the Scalloped Contours dies. Prepare your area to heat emboss by gathering everything you need including scrap paper and a Swiffer sheet microfiber cloth (to wipe up any powder remaining on your work surface). Use the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment from the Share A Milkshake stamp set in Sweet Sorbet ink in the bottom of the right corner of the scalloped stitched rectangle. Be sure not to move the sentiment on the Stamparatus when cleaning off the stamp. Lightly dust the area over the sentiment with the Embossing buddy. Then restamp the sentiment in Versamark ink over the previous stamped sentiment. Apply clear embossing powder over your sentiment, tap off the excess powder, and then use the heat tool to melt the powder.
Die cut a Soft Suede cardstock waffle cone with the Share A Milkshake dies. Die cut a Very Vanilla cardstock large scoop and the smallest scoop with the Share A Milkshake dies. Dry emboss the Very Vanilla cardstock ice cream scoops with the subtle lined Basics 3D embossing folders. Use the Stamparatus to stamp the largest ice cream scoop image from the Share A Milkshake stamp set in Sweet Sorbet ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. Lightly dust the area over the stamped image with the Embossing buddy. Then reink the ice cream scoop with Versamark and restamp over the previous stamped image. Apply clear embossing powder over your sentiment, tap off the excess powder, and use the heat tool to melt the powder. When completely dry, die cut out the heat embossed ice cream scoop with the Share A Milkshake dies.
Use your bone folder to gently curve the die cut waffle cone and use a Stampin’ Dimensional to form the cone. Build your ice cream cone with the dry embossed Very Vanilla cardstock ice cream scoops & the heat embossed ice cream scoop using a Stampin’ Dimensional and glue dots. Use glue dots to attach the built ice cream cone to the card front. Tie a small bow with Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon and use a glue dot to attach the bow to the cone. Add Champagne Basic Rhinestones to the card front under the sentiment and one on the ice cream cone.
Add a Very Vanilla cardstock inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the Best Day stamp set in Sweet Sorbet ink and add a strip of Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
