Hippest Hippos Awash In Beauty DSP Fun Fold Card

I have a lovely and simple fun fold to share today that I created with the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and with the Sale-A-Bration Hippiest Hippos stamp set & the coordinating Hippo dies.

Start with a Balmy Blue cardstock (cs) card base. Use the paper trimmer to cut off 1″ off the left side of the the card front. Cut an Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper (DSP) strip and a Basic White cs strip. Glue the DSP strip to the inside of the card on the left side so that it shows where is revealed from the missing card front. Glue the Basic White cs strip to back of the card front so that half of it shows when you close the card.

Stamp the sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set in Balmy Blue ink across the bottom of the card front. Die cut a stitched circle with the Stylish Shapes dies, dry emboss it with the Into the Clouds embossing folder, and then glue it to the card front above the stamped sentiment. Cut an Awash in Beauty DSP banner and flag the end with paper snips. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the DSP banner to the card front so one edge is flush with the right side of the card front, overlapping the embossed stitched circle & Basic White cs strip, and so the flagged end overhangs the left side of the card front. Punch a Vellum cs leaf with the Bough Punch use glue to embossed stitched circle and tucked under the DSP banner.

Stamp the hippo image from the Hippest Hippos stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cs. Color the hippo with Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella to the hippo and flower for extra sparkle. Die cut out the hippo with the Hippo dies and then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the hippo to the DSP banner overlapping the embossed stitched circle & Vellum leaf. Add Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems to the stitched circle and card front.

As I used a light card base I didn’t need to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write my message. I did stamp the sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set on the inside.

Stamp the sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set and add a DSP strip to the back of the card to pull the theme through.

Card Measurements:
Balmy Blue cs card base – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored in half at 5 1/2″. Then remove 1″ from the left side of the card front (5 1/2″ x 1″).
Awash in Beauty DSP strip – 5 1/2″ x 1″ plus a 1/2″ x 4″ strip.
Basic White cs strip – 5 1/2″ x 1/2″
Awash in Beauty DSP banner – 1″ x 4″ flagged on the left side.
Embossed Basic White stitched circle – (2″) die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.
Vellum cs sprig – punched with the Bough Punch.
Basic White cs hippo – die cut with the Hippo dies.
Basic White cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.
