Global Design Project 199 – Theme Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project theme challenge is ‘For the Love of Craft’. I pulled out my newly arrived Very Versailles stamp set to give the lovely pot of paint brushes from the Crafting Forever stamp set a vintage feel.

Start with a Whisper White Note Card card base. Use a sponge dauber to lightly add Crumb Cake ink to the all the edges of Whisper White Note Card including the inside.

Die cut out a Crumb Cake cs stitched rectangle panel with Stitched Rectangles Dies. Cut out a Whisper White cs panel. Stamp the word paragraph from the Very Versailles stamp set in 2nd generation Crumb Cake ink (stamped off). Then stamp the leaves from the Very Versailles stamp set over the word paragraph image in 2nd generation Pear Pizzazz ink (stamped off). Next dry emboss both the stitched rectangle panel and the stamped Whisper White cs panel with the Subtle 3D embossing folder – remember to use the 3D Embossing Folder Plate when using the new style 3D embossing folders.

Use a sponge dauber to add Crumb Cake ink to the edges of both the stitched rectangle panel and the stamped Whisper White cs panel. Glue the embossed & stamped Whisper White cs panel to the embossed Crumb Cake cs stitched rectangle and then wrap the panels with the Braided Linen Trim – securing the ends with Tear & Tape to the back of the panel. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card base.

Stamp the paint brush pot from the Crafting Forever stamp set in Memento Black ink on Whisper White cs. Use the Stampin’ Blends to color the pot and paint brushes. Die cut an oval out of the colored image with the Layering Oval dies. Die cut out a scalloped oval with the Layering Oval dies from Soft Suede cs. Use a sponge dauber to add Crumb Cake ink to the edges of both the ovals. Glue the stamped Whisper White cs oval to the scalloped Soft Suede oval and adhere the ovals to the card front overlapping the Braided Linen Thread and so it slightly overhangs the embossed stitched rectangle.

Stamp the word images from the Crafting Forever stamp set in Soft Suede ink on Whisper White cs. Use Paper Snips to fussy cut out the ‘BE’ & ‘creative’ and then use a Sponge Dauber to lightly add Crumb Cake ink to the edges of the fussy cut words. Then glue the words to the Whisper White cs oval across the paint brush pot.

Tie a bow using both the Braided Linen Trim and a piece of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon cut in half up the middle. Use glue dots to add the bow over the wrapped Braided Linen Trim next to the image ovals. Add Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the card front for sparkle.

I added strips of embossed Crumb Cake cs that I’d sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
