Global Design Project 194 – Sketch Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project is a fun sketch challenge. I’m using the fabulous new Butterfly Wishes stamp set, the Butterfly Duet punch, and the Country Floral 3D embossing folder for my lovely vintage but simple sketch challenge card.

Start with a Pretty Peacock cs card base. Cut a Rococo Rose cs panel and dry emboss it with the Country Floral 3D embossing folder. Use a sponge dauber to add Rococo Rose ink to the edges of the embossed Rococo Rose panel to give it a vintage look. Wrap 2 pieces of 1/2″ Scalloped Pretty Peacock Linen ribbon around the panel (above the middle), secure to the front of the panel and to the back of the card with Tear & Tape. Then adhere the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card base.

Stamp the butterflies from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set (6 each) on Thick Whisper White cs in Pretty Peacock ink and then punch them out with the Butterfly Duet punch. Pair them up and glue them to each other – so you’ll have 3 large and 3 small butterflies. Then use a sponge dauber to add Rococo Rose ink to the butterflies especially to the edges. Add Wink of Stella to both sides of all the butterflies wings for sparkle. Use the Bone Folder to gently curl the butterflies’ wings.

Stamp the sentiment from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set on Thick Whisper White cs in Pretty Peacock ink. Use Paper Snips to closely snip out the sentiment. Then use a sponge dauber to add Rococo Rose ink to the edges of the sentiment panel.

With glue dots attach the smaller butterflies to the middle of the larger butterflies, and then use glue dots to adhere the butterflies to the Pretty Peacock Linen ribbon. Adhere the sentiment panel below the ribbon on the right side of the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Color Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blend and add them to the card front below the sentiment and on the butterflies.

Don’t forget to add a Thick Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I sponged Rococo Rose ink to the edges of the panel. I also stamped a butterfly in Pretty Peacock ink to the inside panel and back of the card to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my Global Design Project sketch challenge vintage Butterfly Wishes card. I used Thick Whisper White for my butterflies, sentiment, and inside panel to add stability. I sponged the card elements with Rococo Rose ink to give the card a vintage look. You can purchase the fabulous Butterfly Wishes stamp set and Butterfly Duet punch in my Online Store now. We hope that the Country Floral 3d embossing folder and the other 3D carry-over embossing folders will be available soon.
