Friday’s Double Feature: Pure Magic Dragon Cards

The 2022-2023 Annual Catalog Pure Magic stamp set is one of my favorites. I used the fabulous dragon image to create a Halloween card and a Christmas card for this week’s Friday’s Double Feature. You can watch the Facebook Live replay on my Facebook page here or on my YouTube channel below.

Halloween Dragon Card ~

Start with a Thick Basic White cardstock card base. Cut a Basic Black cardstock panel and a Basic White cardstock panel. Dry emboss the Basic White cardstock panel with the Painted Texture embossing folder. Glue the embossed panel to the Basic Black cardstock panel and then glue them to the card base. Cut a Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper panel. Wrap the panel with Metallic Mesh ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends of the ribbon on the back of the panel. Glue the wrapped panel across the card front. Add black Glitter Washi tape above and below the wrapped panel.

Stamp the dragon from the Pure Magic stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Color the dragon with Stampin’ Blends. Fussy cut out the dragon with paper snips. Use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the dragon image to the right side of the card front overlapping the wrapped panel.

Stamp the sentiment from the Scary Cute stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Use paper snips to fussy cut out the sentiment and flag both ends. Use a Black Stampin’ Dimensional to add the sentiment to the card front overlapping the dragon’s wing and the Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper panel. Add Wink of Stella to the dragon and add rhinestones to the card front for extra sparkle.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the Scary Cute stamp set in Memento Black ink and add a strip of Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Card Measurements:
Thick Basic White cs card base – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2′.
Basic Black cs panel – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.
Embossed Basic White cs panel – 5 1/4″ x 4″.
Lights Aglow DSP panel – 1 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ plus two 1/2″ x 4″.
Basic White cs dragon – fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs sentiment banner – fussy cut and flagged ends with paper snips.
Basic White cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8′.
Black Glitter Washi Four Pack

Christmas Dragon Card ~

Start with a Thick Basic White cardstock card base. Cut a Snowy White Velvet sheet panel and a Snowflake Specialty Vellum panel. Die cut the Snowy White Velvet sheet panel with the snowflake frame from the Snowman dies. Use Stampin’ Seal to add the Snowflake Specialty Vellum panel to the back of the the die cut Snowy White Velvet frame. Add the panels to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the dragon from the Pure Magic stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Color the dragon with Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella for sparkle. Fussy cut out the dragon with paper snips. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to tuck the dragon into the bottom of the snowflake frame.

Stamp the sentiment from the Joyful Flurry stamp set in Balmy Blue ink on Basic White cardstock. Use paper snips to fussy cut out the sentiment. Use a Stampin’ Dimensional and glue dots to add the sentiment to the card front overlapping the dragon wing and frame. Add Iridescent rhinestones to the card front for extra sparkle.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the Joyful Flurry stamp set in Balmy Blue ink. Stamp the snowflakes in full & 2nd generation Balmy Blue ink and the snow dots in Pool Party ink on the top left corner from the Joyful Flurry stamp set on the inside panel. Cut two strips of Basic White cardstock and stamp the snowflakes in full & 2nd generation Balmy Blue ink and the snow dots in Pool Party ink on the strips. Then add a stamp strip to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Thick Basic White cs card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.
Snowflake Specialty Vellum panel – 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.
Snowy White Velvet Sheets frame panel – 5 1/4″ x 4″ die cut with Snowman dies.
Basic White cs dragon – fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs sentiment panel – fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs inside panel – 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.
Basic White cs strips – two 1/2″ x 4″ strips.
