For this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge, I created a card using the adorable Sweet Peas stamp set. The images in this too cute Annual Catalog stamp set were perfect for this week’s “Greenery” theme. I decided to use the “two peas in a pod” image and added a pop of Real Red to off set all the green and white & used the Eyelet 3D embossing folder for texture.
Start with a Granny Apple Green cardstock card base. Cut a Basic White cardstock panel, a Real Red cardstock panel, and a Granny Apple Green cardstock panel. Glue the Real Red cardstock panel to the Basic White cardstock panel with about 1/4″on top and 1″ of white on the bottom showing. Stamp the sentiment from the Sweet Peas stamp set in Memento Black ink in the center bottom of the Basic White cardstock panel below the Real Red cardstock panel. Dry emboss the Granny Apple Green cardstock panel with the Eyelet 3D embossing Folder and then glue it on the Real Red cardstock panel. Glue the built panels to the card base.
Die cut two Basic White cardstock stitched squares with the Stylish Shapes dies. Glue the larger stitched square slightly askew on the embossed Granny Apple Green cardstock panel. Stamp two leave sprigs from the Sweet Peas stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Color the sprigs with Stampin’ Blends and then fussy cut them out with paper snips. On the back of the small stitched square use Stampin’ Seal to add looped Linen Thread to the top and bottom. Use glue dots to add the fussy cut sprigs to the stitched square & Linen Thread then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the built small stitched square tilted to the card front.
Stamp the “two peas in a pod” image from the Sweet Peas stamps set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Stamp the heart above the “two peas in a pod” image two more times in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Color the images with Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella for sparkle. Fussy cut out the peas and the hearts (so all three hearts are separate). Add the peas to the center of the small stitched square with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add the hearts above the peas with glue dots. Add Earth Tone Shimmer Gems (available Sept. 4th, 2024) in the leave sprigs and tucked next to the right side of the peas.
Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. I also added a strip of embossed Granny Apple Green cardstock to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
I hope you enjoyed my #GDP459 Sweet Peas HaPEA card. You can order the Sweet Peas stamp set, the Eyelet 3D embossing folder, and the Stylish Shapes dies in my Online Store.
