Welcome and Thank you for visiting Christy’s Stamping Spot! I’m Christy, an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Southern Arizona, USA. I’m excited to be taking part in the Inspirations in Ink Blog Hop with this fabulous group of Demonstrators!
For this month’s blog hop and September’s PDF Tutorial we’re creating cards from a sketch layout. The fun of a sketch layout is that so many themes & stamp sets can shine. For my sketch layout blog hop card I used the teacup image from the Everyday Details stamp set and the lovely Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper.
Start with a Gray Granite cardstock card base. Cut a Boho Blue cardstock panel and a Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper panel. Glue the panels together and then glue them to the card base. Die cut a Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper large stitched banner with the large banner die from the Nested Essentials dies. Cut the banner in half with paper snips. Glue one half of the the banner flush to with the Designer Series Paper panel on the left-side and the banner tail half on the right-side flush with the Boho Blue cardstock panel (leaving a gap in the middle).
Die cut a large Basic White cardstock stitched circle with the Stylish Shapes dies. Stamp the teacup image from the Everyday Details stamp set in Memento Black ink in the center of the die cut stitched circle. Color the image with Stampin’ Blends. Stamp the teacup flowers from the Everyday Details stamp set on Basic White cardstock five times with Memento Black ink. Fussy cut out the flower and leaves. Color the flowers & leaves with Stampin’ Blends. Add Wink of Stella to the stamped image on the stitched circle and to the fussy cut images. Use glue dots to add the colored and fussy cut flowers & leaves to the stamped teacup on the stitched circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the built stitched circle to the card base overlapping the banner (over the gap).
Die cut a small Basic White cardstock sentiment stitch rectangle with the Everyday Details dies. Stamp the sentiment from the Wildflower Designs stamp set in Night of Navy ink on the stitch rectangle. Add the stitched sentiment rectangle to the bottom of the card base under the stitched circle. Add Iridescent Faceted Gems to the sentiment stitched rectangle and the card front.
Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Add a strip of Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through. I stamped the sentiment from the Kiddin’ Around stamp set in Night of Navy ink above the Designer Series Paper strip and added a fussy cut flower & leave over the strip.
