Sunny Days & Bee Mine DSP Card

For this week’s Global Design Project CASE the Designer challenge we’re CASEing a lovely card by Cindy Timmers from Belgium. To create my card I paired the bright florals of the Sunny Day’s Designer Series Paper with the bees & honeycomb patterns from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper with the sentiment from the Sale-A-Bration Heartfelt Hellos stamp set. I punched out Basic White cardstock shapes with the Handmade Tag punch and used the Bee Builder punch to add Vellum cardstock wings to the fussy cut bees all on a Pretty Peacock Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card base.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

Start with a Pretty Peacock Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards & Envelopes card base. Cut a Sunny Days Designer Series Paper Panel and distress the panel’s edges (with a distressing tool or the edge of paper snips). Use glue to add the distress Designer Series Paper panel to the card base. Punch three Basic White cardstock shapes with the Handmade Tag punch and glue the tags to the card front. Cut a Pretty Peacock cardstock panel and a Bee Mine Designer Series Paper panel. Glue the panels together, add some looped Linen Thread with Stampin’ Seal to the back of the panels, and then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the panels to the card front overlapping the center punched shape. Stamp the sentiment from the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Fussy cut out the sentiment, tear the top edge, and distress the sides & bottom of the sentiment panel. Use glue to add the sentiment panel to the card front slightly on the left side of the Pretty Peacock cardstock & Bee Mine Designer Series Paper panels.

Fussy cut out some Sunny Days Designer Series Paper flowers and use glue dots to add them to the card front for dimension. Fussy cut out three large and five (three for the front and one for the inside & back) small bees from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper with paper snips. Punch out small and large heart Vellum cardstock wings with the Bee Builder punch and use Stampin’ Seal to add the wings to the bees. Use a bone folder to gently curl the wings of the larger bees and then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the bees so they overlap the Basic White cardstock punched tags. Use glue dots to add the built smaller bees to the card front. Add Wink of Stella to the flowers and bees for sparkle. Add Champagne Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems to the flower centers and the left of the sentiment.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Add a strip of Sunny Days Designer Series Paper and a built fussy cut Bee Mine Designer Series Paper bee with Vellum cardstock wings to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
