This week’s Global Design Project is a fun aquatic theme challenge. I used the lovely seahorse from the Seaside Notions stamp set and the Whale of a Time DSP to create my card.
Start with a Thick Very Vanilla cs card base. Cut a Pool Party cs panel and a Whale Of A Time DSP panel and glue them together. Wrap the panels with the Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Playing With Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack use glue dots to secure the ends to the back of the panels and then glue the wrapped panels to the card base.
Stamp a seahorse, a sand dollar, and three coral from the Seaside Notions stamp set in Memento Black ink on Thick Very Vanilla cs. Color the images with Stampin’ Blends. Add Wink of Stella to the sand dollar for sparkle. Fussy cut out the images with your Paper Snips.
Die cut out a Water Color Paper stitched nested label with the Stitched Nested Labels dies. Dampen the label with your Water Painter. Add a drop of Pool Party ink and Calypso Coral ink from their refills to the damp label. Use your Water Painter to move the ink to where you want it. Let it dry.
Cut the Thick Very Vanilla cs panel and the Pool Party cs sentiment layer panel. Stamp the sentiment from the Seaside Notions stamp set in Memento Black ink on the Thick Very Vanilla cs panel. Glue the stamped sentiment panel to the Pool Party cs sentiment layer panel and then to the top right corner of the card front.
Use glue dots to attach the coral to the back of the dry Water Color paper stitched label (snip apart one of the coral pieces with paper snips) and then use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the label with coral to the card front to the left side of the card front overlapping the ribbon and coral slightly overlapping the sentiment panels.
Attach the seahorse to the stitched label with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add the sand dollar and a small sniped coral piece to the bottom left of the stitched label with glue dots and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tie a bow with the Coastal Cabana ribbon and use glue dots to add it to the card front to the right of the stitched label overlapping the wrapped ribbon. Add Artisan Blooms Sequins to the card front and the seahorse.
I stamped the sentiment from the Seaside Notions stamp set on the inside and added a strip of DSP to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
