I love Halloween cards and for last week’s Global Design Project challenge card I created a fun Halloween card. We were CASEing a wonderful card from Stesha Bloodhart. I loved all the destressed layers and was inspired to create instead of a landscape but a Halloween scene with a blended background & using the punch out pieces from the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series paper.

SPOOKY SWEET 12″ X 12″ SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER
$16.50

Start with a Basic Gray cardstock card base. Cut a Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock panel, a Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series panel, and a Basic White cardstock panel. Use a distressing tool (or use the edge of your paper snips) to distress the Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock panel and the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Panel. Use small blending brushes to create a blended background scene by adding Early Espresso ink and Pecan Pie ink to the bottom of the Basic White cardstock panel, then blend in Azure Afternoon ink above the Pecan Pie ink, and finally Night of Navy ink to the top of the panel.

Punch out the tree, banner, and rhino from the Spooky Sweet Specialty designer series paper. I trimmed off some of the surrounding white around the punched images with my paper snips. I used a small blending brush to lightly add Gray Granite ink around the rhino & banner, and Pecan Pie ink around the tree. Add Wink of Stella to the images for sparkle. Use glue to add the tree to the center (slightly to the left) of the blended Basic White cardstock panel. Use mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the banner into the tree and use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the rhino in front of the tree. Distress the edges of the blended panel. Wrap the distressed panel with Gray Granite Baker’s Twine twice and tie in a bow on the right side of the panel. Use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the built wrapped blended panel to the destressed Spooky Sweet Specialty designer series paper panel, use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add those panels to the destressed Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock panel, and then use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add all panels to the card base.

Cut a Spooky Sweet Specialty designer series paper sentiment panel. Stamp the sentiment from the Fright Night stamp set in Memento Black ink on the sentiment panel. Destress the edges of the sentiment panel. Use mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the destressed sentiment panel to the right side of the card front above the wrapped baker’s twine overlapping the tree & rhino. Add black Shimmer Star Foam Stickers to the card front.

Cut a Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock inside panel layer and a Basic White cardstock inside panel two write your message. Destress the Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock inside panel layer and then use glue to add it into the card. Stamp the sentiment from the Words of the Season stamp set on the right side of the Basic White cardstock inside panel. Use glue to add the Basic White cardstock inside panel into the card over the destressed Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock inside panel layer. Add a strip of destressed Spooky Sweet Specialty designer series paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme though.

I hope you enjoyed my Spooky Sweet Global Design Project CASE The Designer Challenge card. You can order the Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Paper, the Fright Night stamps set, the Words For The Season stamp set in my Online Store.
