Magnolia Mood Birthday Shaker Card

Card Measurements and Supply List for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

For this week’s Global Design Project Sketch Challenge I used the gorgeous new Online Exclusive Magnolia Mood bundle to create my shaker card. Instead of using clear acetate for my shaker card windows I used Vellum cardstock with the Loose Silver Sequins and used the Distressed 3D Tile embossing folder to add texture to my card front.

Start with an Old Olive cardstock card base. Cut a Petal Pink cardstock panel. Die cut two squares into the Petal Pink cardstock panel with Stylish Shapes dies (I used a square die cut out of scrap paper to determine the positions of the squares on the panel). Dry emboss the die cut panel with the Distressed 3D Tiled embossing folder. Cut a Vellum cardstock panel and an Old Olive cardstock panel. Add Stampin’ Seal to the back of the Petal Pink cardstock panel and then adhere the Vellum cardstock panel to the Petal Pink cardstock panel.

Add the Foam Adhesive Strips around the square windows to create the shaker compartment. Add additional Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Vellum cardstock panel for even coverage. Add Loose Silver Sequins to the center of each compartment. Place the Old Olive cardstock panel over completely covering the Vellum cardstock and compartments (use your fingers to make sure the Foam Adhesive Strips are adhered securely to the Old Olive cardstock panel). Use glue to add the shaker panel to the card base.

Stamp all three flower images from the Magnolia Mood stamp set in Pecan Pie ink on Basic White cardstock (I used my stamping positioning tool). Die cut out the images with the Magnolia Mood dies. Color the images with Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella to the flower centers for sparkle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the largest and smallest flower to the card front. Stamp the sentiment from the Magnolia Mood stamp set in Old Olive ink on Basic White cardstock and then die cut it out with the Stylish Shapes dies. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the sentiment banner to the card front overlapping the flowers in between the squares. Use glue dots to add Loose Silver Sequins to the card front for extra sparkle.

Add a Basic White cardstock panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set in Old Olive ink and an embossed Petal Pink cardstock strip to the inside & back of the card to pull the theme through. Add the last die cut flower to the left side of the inside panel overlapping the cardstock strip.
