Halloween Mondays: Celebrate Everything Angled Gatefold Card

Halloween is on a Monday this year and I’ll be counting down to Halloween with a new Halloween project on Mondays until October 31st.

Card Measurements, Supply List, and printable PDF tutorial for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

I couldn’t resist making these fun Angled Gatefold Cards for this Week’s Halloween Mondays project. I’m still not recovered from Covid but was inspired to try out this fun fold from Karen Titus (check out her YouTube video here). The one good thing about still being under the weather is that I’ve been able to watch some of my favorite crafters and be inspired! Luckily, this fun fold isn’t hard to create but lots of fun! You can add a coordinating belly band, a ribbon (although I didn’t use this one), or a tab for tucking the corner into to close this card.

Cut from the corner to 1 1/2″ and then from the new point to 1″ on both sides. And do the same to the panels (5 1/4″ x 3 1/8″)

Start with a Mango Melody cardstock card base. Score your card base and then use your paper trimmer to cut the panels to shape. Cut two Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper panels to shape. Glue the panels onto the card base. You can use your paper trimmer to even up the panels if you need to. Add Wink of Stella to the ghost images on the Designer Series Paper for sparkle.

Cut a Mango Melody cardstock belly band. Dry emboss the band with the Timber 3D embossing folder (run one side and then run the second half). Gently fold the embossed strip around the the card and create the creases. Use Stampin’ Seal to create the belly band.

Punch a Basic Black cardstock scalloped circle with the Double Oval punch. Stamp the sentiment from the Scary Cute stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock and punched out with the Double Oval punch. Punch a Crushed Curry cardstock star with the Witch Hat Builder punch. Use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the sentiment oval to the scalloped oval. Add the ovals to the embossed belly band with Stampin’ Seal. Add the star to the sentiment oval with a glue dot.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment using the Alphabest stamp set and the Scary Cute stamp set in Memento Black ink. Add a strip of Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper and stamp the stars from the Best Witches stamp set, color the stars with the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Maker on the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Product List

I used a Basic Gray cardstock card base and panels of both sides of the Black & White Designs Designer Series Paper. I added Black Glitter Washi Tape to the tops of the cut to shape panels and then glue to the card base. I embossed the belly band with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder, punched with the ovals with the Double Oval Punch, and stamped the sentiment from the Best Witches stamp set. I also added Matte Black Dots to the belly band.

I added the Basic Black cardstock house and bats die cut with the Scary Silhouettes dies and added a strip of the Black & White Designs Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Product List

For this card I started with a Smoky Slate cardstock card base. Cut a Black & White Design Designer Series Paper panel and Lights Aglow Specialty Designer Series Paper panel. Die cut two Real Red Glimmer paper top edges with the Basic Borders dies. Glue the panels to the card base and then glue the top edges to the panels. Use paper snips to cut off the excess Glimmer paper.

Create a button notch by die cutting the smallest Basic Black cardstock scalloped circle and a Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper circle with the Layering Circles dies. Use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the circles to the front left panel (with adhesive only on the left side of the circles so you can tuck the right corner panel under it). I decorated the button notch with a piece of Metallic Mesh ribbon, bats, and a fussy cut spider (stamped from the Bewitching stamp set).

I used a sponge dauber to add a Memento Black ink to the inside Basic White cardstock panel. I also added Basic Black cardstock die cut bats, stamped a spider, and added a strip of Lights Aglow Specialty Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
