For this week’s Global Design Project #GDP486 Sketch Challenge I created a fun card using the adorable little bee from the Cute As Can Bee Designer Series Paper with Petunia Pop Two-Tone cardstock embossed and sanded to expose a bit of its white core.

CUTE AS CAN BEE 12″ X 12″ DESIGNER SERIES PAPER
$12.50

MEANT TO BEE 12″ X 12″ TWO-TONE CARDSTOCK
$12.00

Start with a Petunia Pop cardstock card base. Cut a Basic Black cardstock panel and a Petunia Pop Two-Tone cardstock panel. Dry emboss the Petunia Pop Two-Tone cardstock (light side) panel with the So Swirly embossing folder and then gently sand to reveal some of the white core. Glue the embossed panel to the Basic Black cardstock panel and then glue them to the card base.

Cut a Cute As Can Bee Designer Series Paper panel and glue it across the card front. Cut a Basic Black cardstock strip and glue it across the card front in the middle of the Designer Series Paper panel. Punch a Basic Black cardstock 2″ circle layer and punch 1 3/4″ circle flying bee from the Cute As Bee Designer Series Paper. Glue the circles together and use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add them to the card front overlapping the Basic Black cardstock strip & Designer Series Paper panel. Fussy cut out a flying bee from the Cute As Can Bee Designer Series Paper, use a bone folder to slight curl the wings, and use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the bee over the bee in on the punched circle. Add Wink of Stella to the bee for sparkle.

Stamp the sentiment from the Simply Said stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Use paper snips to closely fussy cut out the sentiment. Cut a Basic Black cardstock sentiment layer. Glue the sentiment panel and the Basic Black cardstock layer together and then use a glue dot & a Black Stampin’ Dimensional to add it to the card front on the lower right side of the circles. Add Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots to the card front.

Add a Basic White cardstock panel to write you message. I added a strip of Designer Series Paper to the bottom of the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through. I also added a fussy cut bee from the Cute As Can Bee Designer Series Paper on the bottom left side of the inside panel overlapping the Designer Series Paper strip.
