This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge. I couldn’t resist pulling out my new Stylish Scroll embossing folder and Ornate Frames Dies from my Holiday Catalog pre-order to create my card.
Start with a Pretty Peacock cs card base. Cut a Whisper White cs panel and dry emboss it with the Stylish Scroll embossing folder. Use Paper Snips to cut a piece of Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen ribbon in half length wise and then attach it to the top and bottom edges embossed Whisper White cs panel so only the Pretty Peacock eyelet lace shows. Adhere the embossed Whisper White cs panel to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Fussy cut out flowers from the Magnolia Lane DSP (two pieces for the front and one for the inside and back for a total of 4). Use an aqua painter to add Merry Merlot ink to the flower petals. Add Wink of Stella to the petals for extra sparkle.
Die cut out both sizes of scroll frames with the Ornate Frames Dies from Merry Merlot cs (2 long and 2 short). Die cut out 5 sprigs with the Frosted Bouquet Dies from Mossy Meadow cs.
Cut the sentiment Whisper White cs strip and then stamp the sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink. Add a piece of the lengthed Pretty Peacock Scalloped ribbon to the right edge. Snip a piece off of a Merry Merlot cs ornate frame and glue it to the bottom edge of the Whisper White cs sentiment panel so only the scroll is visable.
Build the card front-
- Glue a long Merry Merlot cs ornate frame to the embossed Whisper White cs panel slightly slanted on the left side.
- Use snail to attach the Mossy Meadow cs sprigs to all the fussy cut flowers.
- Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the large flowers piece and sprigs over the Merry Merlot frame.
- Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment panel to the center bottom of the embossed Whisper White cs panel slightly tucked under the bottom edge of the fussy cut flowers.
- Attach another fussy cut flower and sprig overlapping the left corner of the sentiment panel.
- Color Pearl Basic Jewels with a Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend and then add to the card front.
Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message.
To pull the theme through, I stamped the sentiment on both the inside and back of the card.
I also added pieces of the Merry Merlot cs ornate frames and fussy cut flowers & sprigs to the inside panel and back of the card.
