Dandy Designs DSP Birthday Card

Card Measurements and Supply List for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

For this week’s Global Design Project CASE the designer challenge we are CASEing a lovely card by Janneke Dijkstra de Jong. I made a bit of a pot luck card – using seven different stamp sets to create this fun critter with balloons Birthday card. I gathered four different critters (the elephant from Elephant Parade, the pig from This Birthday Piggy, the goose from Silly Goose, & the penguin from Count On Me) with balloons to pair with the fun Sale-A-Bration Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper. I added Tahitian Tide ink with the watercolor texture stamp from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set to a scalloped stitched rectangle to arrange my fussy cut critters on with a swopping white Baker’s Twine bow under the sentiment.

Start with a Tahitian Tide cardstock card base. Cut a Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper panel and glue it to the card base. Die cut a Basic White cardstock scalloped stitched rectangle with the Scalloped Contours dies. Stamp the sentiment from the Sentimental Park stamp set in Tahitian Tide ink on the center bottom of the scalloped stitched rectangle. Stamp the large watercolor texture stamp from the Artistically Inked stamp set twice with 2nd generation (stamped off) Tahitian Tide ink in the center of the scalloped stitched rectangle above the sentiment. Glue the stamped scalloped stitched rectangle to the center of the card front.

Stamp the elephant & balloon from the Elephant Parade stamp set, the pig from the This Birthday Piggy stamp set, the goose from the Silly Goose stamp set, and the penguin from the Count On Me stamp set in Memento Black ink on Thick Basic White cardstock. Color the images with Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella for sparkle. Fussy cut out the images with paper snips. Use glue dots, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, and glue to add the images to the scalloped stitched rectangle above the sentiment overlapping the stamped color on the card front. Tie a white Baker’s Twine bow with one tail larger than the other and use glue dots to add it to the right side of the sentiment on the card front with one tail swopping under the sentiment. Add Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set & the balloon from the Elephant Parade stamp set in Tahitian Tide ink and add a strip of Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
