Circle Sayings Bundle Birthday Card

For this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge I used the retiring Circle Sayings bundle with another retiring favorite the Scalloped Contours dies to create my card. I also used the new 2024-2026 In Color Pretty In Pink water color wash to create a lovely background for my cupcake.

Start with a Pretty In Pink cardstock card base. Cut a Bubble Bath cardstock panel and a Basic White cardstock panel. Create a water color was on the Basic White cardstock with a water painter and the Pretty In Pink ink (using the lid as an ink well). Dry emboss the water color washed Basic White cardstock (while slightly damp) with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. Then add Pretty In Pink ink splatters with the Dark Pretty In Pink Stampin’ Blend and add Wink of Stella splatter for sparkle (I made an extra piece of this background to create strips for the inside & back of the card). Glue the created background Basic White cardstock panel to the Bubble Bath cardstock panel. Wrap the panels with White Iridescent ribbon and the Bubble Bath Sheer ribbon only slightly overlapping using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends to the back of the panels. Use glue to add the wrapped panels the card base.

Die cut a Vellum cardstock scalloped rectangle with the Scalloped Contours dies. Add a small strip of Stampin’ Seal to the back of the Vellum cardstock scalloped rectangle (where it won’t show) and tuck it under the wrapped ribbon. Punch a Basic White cardstock circle and a Pretty In Pink cardstock circle with the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch. Stamp the cupcake from the Circle Sayings stamp set in Basic Gray ink on the Basic White cardstock circle. Color the cupcake with Stampin’ Blends (including Pretty In Pink & Petunia Pop). Cut the Pretty In Pink cardstock circle in half with paper snips and use Stampin’ Seal to add the halves to the back of the Basic White cardstock circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the circles to the card front overlapping the wrapped ribbon.

Cut a Basic White cardstock sentiment banner. Use a water painter to add a light Pretty In Pink water color wash to the sentiment banner. When completely dry stamp the sentiment from the Circle Saying stamp set in Pretty In Pink ink on the sentiment banner. Use paper snips to flag one end of the sentiment banner. Use glue dots and a Stampin’ Dimensional to add the sentiment banner to the card front overlapping the circles and wrapped ribbon. Add Wink of Stella splatter over the sentiment banner, circles, and Vellum cardstock scalloped rectangle for sparkle. Add Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front for extra sparkle. Tie a small Bubble Bath Sheer ribbon bow and add it to the left side of the circles overlapping the Bubble Bath Sheer ribbon with glue dots.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. I stamped the sentiment circle in Basic Gray ink and the sentiment in Pretty In Pink ink from the Circle Sayings stamp set on the inside panel. I added an embossed Pretty In Pink color washed & splattered with Pretty In Pink ink from the Dark Pretty In Pink Stampin’ Blend & splattered with Wink of Stella Basic White cardstock strip on the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Pretty In Pink cs card base – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″.
Bubble Bath cs panel – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.
Embossed color washed Basic White cs panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 5/8″ plus two 1/2″ x 4″ strips.
Vellum cs scalloped rectangle – die cut with the Scalloped Contours dies.
Basic White cs circle – punched with the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch.
Pretty In Pink cs circle – punched with the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch and then cut in half.
Basic White cs sentiment banner – 3/4″ x 2″ and then flag an end with paper snips.
Basic White cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.
