Bird Ballad Suite Card

For this week’s Global Design Project CASE challenge I chose to use the lovely Bird Ballad Suite and the color So Saffron.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

Start with a Bird Ballad Laser – Cut card base. Cut a Shimmery White cs panel. Put a small amount of So Saffron ink refill on an acrylic block. Use your aqua painter to add a So Saffron color wash to the Shimmery White cs panel. Let dry completely if it curls you can weigh it down with a large acrylic block to flatten. Use glue to add the colored Shimmery White cs panel to the back of the Laser – Cut card front.

Die cut out a label with the Stitched Nested Label dies from Shimmery White cs. Dry emboss the label with the Scripty 3D embossing folder (be sure to use the 3D Embossing Folder Plate for the best impression). Add a So Saffron color wash to the embossed label with your aqua painter.

Fussy cut out birds and flowers from the Bird Ballad DSP. Glue a large bird/flower branch across the colored embossed Shimmery White cs label. Cut a piece of Petal Pink Stripped Organdy ribbon. Add Snail to the back of the label to attach the ribbon. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the panel & ribbon to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set in Early Espresso ink on Shimmery White cs. Die cut out the sentiment with Stitched So Sweetly dies. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the sentiment panel to the colored embossed label so it is slightly off the edge.

Add a small fussy cut flower to the sentiment panel. Use a glue dot to add a Bird Ballad Trinket to the fussy cut flower on the sentiment panel. Add rhinestones to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set and added a fussy cut a Bird Ballad DSP flower to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

You can also dry emboss the envelope flap with the Scripty 3D embossing folder. I also added some So Saffron ink to the flap with my aqua painter.
