Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper Card

The Birthday Bonanza Suite is an adorable collection of products in the January -June 2020 Mini Catalog. I used the fabulous Birthday Bonanza DSP to make a super fun DSP card. You can watch the Facebook Live replays of these cards here – Part 1 & Part 2 (last 6 min) or watch on my YouTube channel below.

You can die cut out the stamped images – just keep in mind that you stamp the lion body and mane/tail separately when you want to die cut them out.

Start with a 4″ x 12″ piece of Birthday Bonanza DSP and score it at 4 1/4″ and at 9 1/2″ (make sure that your pattern is going the way you want depending if you want the fold to open up or down). Cut your coordinating cs base panel and two 1″x 4″ strips (Smoky Slate cs for the kola or Grapefruit Grove cs for the lion). Use your fingers to fold back the flap about 1″ on the largest piece.

Glue the scored DSP card body to the card base panel. Glue the strip flush to the outside of the shortest flap. Glue the second strip under the folded 1″ flap making sure that the same amount of strip shows on both sides when closed flat. Wrap the folded over flap with the Grapefruit Grove grosgrain ribbon and secure with either a bow or knot.

Die cut out a scalloped 2 1/2″ circle from Grapefruit Grove cs for the kola and Daffodil Delight cs for the lion with the Layering Circles dies. Die cut a smaller scalloped 2 1/4″ circle from Smoky Slate cs for the kola and Grapefruit Grove cs for the lion with the Layering Circles Dies. Punch out the kola and lion from the Birthday Bonanza DSP with the 2″ Circle Punch. Glue the layers together.

Attach the circles layer to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the large flap overlapping the two strips when flat – but only apply the dimensionals to one side.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel. I stamped the sentiment from the Bonanza Buddies stamp set in Memento Black ink. You can either stamp the lion or kola or glue fussy cut out DSP buddies on the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
