Stampin’ Up!® Whale Done Happy Birthday Turtle Card

For this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge I created a lovely turtle birthday card with the fabulous Whale Done stamp set and the retiring Seabed 3D embossing folder.

Start with a Just Jade cs card base. Cut a Soft Sea Foam cs panel and dry emboss it with the Seabed 3D embossing folder. Die cut a Vellum cs stitched scalloped panel with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Use Stampin’ Seal in the center of the Vellum cs stitched scalloped panel to attach it to the center of the embossed Soft Sea Foam cs panel. Wrap the panels with Just Jade 2020-2022 In Color ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends on the back of the panel. Use more Stampin’ Seal to attach the wrapped panels to the card base.

Stamp the seaweed from the Whale Done stamp set in first & second generation (stamped off) Just Jade ink on Very Vanilla cs. Add a small amount of Light Just Jade Stampin’ Blend to the edges of the seaweed and use the Color Lifter to blur the seaweed images to give them a watercolor look. Stamp the turtle from the Whale Done stamp set in Just Jade ink. Stamp the fish from the Whale Done stamp set in 1st and 2nd generation Misty Moonlight ink. Did cut out the built image with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Color the turtle with Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella for sparkle. Use Stampin’ Dimentionals to attach the die cut image to the center of the card front overlapping the ribbon.

Stamp the sentiment from the Friendly Flamingo stamp set in Just Jade ink on Very Vanilla cs. Punch out the sentiment with the Classic Label punch. Use glue dots and Mini Stampin’ Dimentionals to add the sentiment label to the right side of the card front overlapping the die cut image, Vellum cs panel, and embossed panel. Tie a small bow with the Just Jade 2020-2022 In Color ribbon and use glue dots to add the bow to the left side of the die cut image overlapping the ribbon. Add Opal Rounds to the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Very Vanilla cs inside panel. Stamp the sentiment from the Whale Done stamp set in Just Jade ink. Stamp the fish from the Whale Done stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink. I also added a strip of embossed Soft Sea Foam cs on the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Embossed Soft Sea Foam cs panel – 4″ x 5 1/4″ plus two embossed strips 1/4″ x 4″.
Vellum cs stitched scalloped panel – die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
Very Vanilla cs image label – die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
Very Vanilla cs sentiment label – punched with the Classic Label punch.
Very Vanilla cs inside panel – 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.
