Stampin’ Up! Clever Cats Birthday Card

Of all the awesomeness in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog, I’m going to miss the retiring Clever Cats stamp set the most. If you haven’t already added this adorable stamp set to your stash yet- you still have a few days left to get it! For the Global Design Project theme challenge I created this Clever Cats card with the pot & greenery from the Plentiful Plants stamp sets, a panel of Painted Christmas DSP, the birthday cake from the Party Puffins stamp set, and sentiments from the In Bloom stamp set & Pansy Patch stamp set.

Start with a Just Jade cs card base. Cut a Cinnamon Cider panel and a Painted Christmas DSP panel. Die cut a Basic White cs stitched scalloped rectangle. Stamp the sentiment from the In Bloom stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink on the stitched scalloped rectangle and then glue the rectangle to the center of the card front.

Stamp the cat in Cinnamon Cider ink on Basic White cs. Add shading to the cat’s fur with Stampin’ Blends and trace the cat with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker. Stamp a pot in Early Espresso ink, the broad leaves in Just Jude ink, and a leaf sprig in Shaded Spruce ink from the Plentiful Plants stamp set. Fussy cut out the cat, pot, and leaves with paper snips (you can die cut out the pot & leaves with the Perfect Plants dies available also as a bundle).

Use glue dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, and glue to add the cat & leaves to the pot and then add them to the card front on the bottom left of the stitched scalloped rectangle. Add Wink of Stella to the cats eyes and Genial Gems to the pot of the pot for extra sparkle.

Don’t forgot to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink. I stamped the birthday cake from the Party Puffins stamp set in Early Espresso ink and colored with the Stampin’ Blends. I also stamped the peeking cat image from the Clever Cats stamp set in Cinnamon Cider ink on Basic White cs, fussy cut it out with paper snips, and add it to the bottom of the inside panel.

I also added a strip of DSP to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
