Rolled Torn Edge Reveal Hues of Happiness Card

Card Measurements and Supply List for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

I was excited to try the Rolled Torn Edge Reveal technique card that I’ve been seeing a bunch lately. I found a version of the technique from Mandy VanHavermaet on YouTube where she scored before she tore that made creating this card easier. I also dry embossed the panel before I tore the cardstock that made the fibers easier to tear and added wonderful texture to the card. You can watch my Facebook Live replay of the project on my Facebook Page here or on my YouTube Channel below.

Start with a Night of Navy card base. Cut a Night of Navy cardstock (cs) panel and a Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (DSP) panel. Score the Night of Navy cs panel and burnish the score lines well then dry emboss the scored panel with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. Gently tear the embossed Night of Navy cs panel along the score lines to create the reveal effect. Use glue to add the DSP panel on the back of the torn panel flush with the left edge so the desired pattern shows through. Glue the panels to the card base. Use a pencil or a paint brush to gently roll the torn cs and then use a small amount of glue to secure the roll. Add Wink of Stella to the flowers and Iridescent rhinestones on the DSP for extra sparkle.

Cut a Basic White cs strip. Stamp the sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set in Night of Navy ink on the right end of the strip. Use glue to add it to the bottom of the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set in Night of Navy ink and add a strip of DSP to the inside & back of the card to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my Rolled Torn Edge Reveal Hues of Happiness card. You can order the Happiness Abounds stamp set, the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper, and the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder in my Online Store.

I love your card! The colors of this suite are fantastic, and scoring prior to tearing really does make it easier. Thanks for the shout out!
