Positive Thoughts 2018 – 2020 In Color Cards: Card 2

I created a set of 4 cards for the Stamping Lovelies color challenge. I started by making my own DSP using the Positive Thoughts stamp set and the 2018- 2019 In Colors. These bright and cheery colors are retiring in June so don’t wait to stock up on your favorites. You can see all the 2018 – 2020 In Color products here in my Online Store.

I made my own DSP by stamping the images on a full sheet of Whisper White cs.

I colored the butterflies with the Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blend. I cut the stamped Whisper White cs sheet (8 1/2″ x 11″) into four – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ pieces to use on each card.

Start with a Lovely Lipstick cs card base. Cut a Pineapple Punch cs panel, dry emboss it with the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder (don’t forget to use the blue 3D Embossing Folder Plate to get the best impression), and glue it to the card base.

Trim down the stamped Whisper White cs panel (3 3/4″ x 4 1/2″), add Wink of Stella to the flowers & Butterflies, and then cut into three 1 1/2″ panels. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the three panels to the embossed Pineapple Punch cs panel. I found it easier to first put on both side panels first and then place the middle panel in last.

Stamp the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set in Lovely Lipstick ink on Whisper White cs. Die cut out the sentiment (with the sentiment slightly more to the left) with the Painted Label dies. Die cut a Lovely Lipstick cs sentiment label with the Painted Labels dies.

Use glue dots to attach the Lovely Lipstick cs label to the center of the card front. Cut a piece of Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain ribbon, wrap it around the right side of the Whisper White cs sentiment label, and then tie it in a bow.

Attach the wrapped Whisper White cs sentiment label to the center of the Lovely Lipstick cs label on the card front. Color pearls with the Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blend and add them to the sentiment label.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped the sentiment and added an embossed Pineapple Punch cs strip to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
