Peaceful Poppies DSP Card with the Little Ladybug

There is a fun new trend to use your 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper as the card base for your cards instead of cardstock. If you cut your 12″ x 12″ DSP in 4″ panels you can get 3 card bases from 1 sheet. For this card I scored my 4″ x 12″ DSP panel at 5 1/2″ and 11″ giving it a 1″ lip to fold over to form the front of my card. You can watch the Facebook Live replay of this project here or watch in on my YouTube channel below.

Start with a 4″ x 12″ DSP panel and score it at 5 1/2″ and 11″ as your card base. Be sure that the design is going the right direction before you cut your DSP. Die cut a Vellum cs panel with the Nature’s Thoughts dies. Die cut out 2 Thick Whisper White cs labels with the Wild Rose dies.

Stamp the ladybug from the Little Ladybug stamp set in Memento Black ink to the left on one Thick Whisper White cs label and in the middle of the second label. Stamp the sentiment from the Little Ladybug stamp set in Memento Black ink to the right of the ladybug image on the Thick Whisper White cs label that has the ladybug image on the left. Color the ladybugs with the Stampin’ Blends. Add Wink of Stella for sparkle.

outline the colored image with the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend to help the image ‘pop”.

Attach the stamped Thick Whisper White cs label to the the die cut Vellum cs panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals – place the Dimensionals at the corners to leave the center clear for the ribbon.

*At this step you can cut and place the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon (about 22″) under the Whisper White cs label before adhering it down. You can even add a glue dot on the left center edge of the label to attach the ribbon so that the ribbon won’t move after the bow is untied.

Attach the die cut Vellum cs panel to the card front using glue dots hidden beneath the right edge of the Thick Whisper White cs label to the 1″ folded lip. Then flip over the Vellum cs front and add the second stamped label over top of the front label with glue. Make sure that both sides have lined up – the back side label will overlap the back side of the DSP flap.

Cut and add a Thick Whisper White cs inside panel. I stamped the sentiment and the tiny ladybugs from the the Little Ladybug stamp set three times across the bottom in Memento Black ink to pull the theme through to the inside of your card.

Cut a piece of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon (22″) and thread it under the front stamped Thick Whisper White cs if you haven’t already. You can add a glue dot on the left center edge of the label to attach the ribbon so that the ribbon won’t move after the bow is untied. Tie the ribbon in a bow to close the card. Add Peaceful Poppies sequins to the card with glue dots to the Vellum/ label panel. You can also add sequins to the flip side on the Vellum to mirror the front.
