Nested Essentials Halloween Card

Card Measurements and Supply List for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

Halloween is fast approaching and I wanted to make this simple and lovely card as soon as I used the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog Nested Essentials dies. One of the group of the nested dies in this set looks like coffins and I thought they would make fun Halloween cards. I created this card using the Paper Florist dies to create flowers with the Them Bones Designer Series Paper and dry embossed the front panel with the gorgeous Distressed Tile 3D embossing for texture.

Start with a Starry Sky cardstock card base. Cut a Basic White cardstock panel, dry emboss it with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder and then add Starry Sky ink to the panel edges by running the ink pad across the panel. Glue the embossed panel to the card base.

Die cut a Basic Black cardstock coffin using the second largest die from the Nested Essentials dies. Glue the coffin at an angle on the card front. Die cut Them Bones Designer Series Paper flowers (the four – four petal die) with the Paper Florist dies to create one large flower and two smaller flowers. Die cut three Basic Black cardstock flower centers. Die cut out three Starry Sky leaves with the Paper Florist dies. Build the flowers by gently curling two flower petals with a bone folder for each flower and layer them on a non-curled flower petal with glue dots. Use glue to add the flower centers to the flowers. Add the built flowers to the top of the coffin using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Use glue dots and tuck the die cut leaves under the flowers.

Cut a Basic White cardstock sentiment panel and then stamp the sentiment from the Pick of the Patch stamp set in Starry Sky ink. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the sentiment to the card front tucked slightly under the flowers on top of the coffin. Add black Adhesive – Backed Sparkle Gems to the flower centers for sparkle.

Cut a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. I added a more Halloween feel by stamping the skeleton from the Bag of Bones stamp set in Starry Sky ink down the right side of the panel and using a Blender Pen to pull color to fill in color on the skeleton. I also stamped the sentiment from the Bag of Bones stamp set and added a strip of embossed & inked Basic White cardstock to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my Nested Essentials Halloween card. You can order the Nested Essentials dies, the Them Bones Designer Series Paper, the Bag of Bones stamp set, Pick of the Patch stamp set, and the Paper Florist dies in my Online Store.
