The Botanical Butterfly DSP has a lovely black and white side that includes a gingham check that was fun to pair with the rooster from the Home to Roost stamp set. I couldn’t decide if I liked the card with more Poppy Parade or less. Take a look and let me know in the comments which card you like best. Most of the instructions are the same for both cards but I have listed separate measurements & supplies at the bottom.
Start with a Whisper White cs card base. Cut a Whisper White cs panel and emboss it with the Subtle embossing folder. Cut a Botanical Butterfly DSP panel. Add glue to the bottom of the embossed Whisper White cs panel and adhere the Botanical Butterfly DSP so that the DSP overlaps the embossed Whisper White cs panel on the glue. Wrap the edges of the Basic Black Shimmer ribbon around the embossed cs/DSP layer covering the seam. Use glue to adhere the cs/DSP/ribbon layers to the card base.
Cut a Whisper White cs oval (2 3/8″) with the Layering Ovals. Stamp the image on the Whisper White cs oval in Memento Black. Color the rooster with a light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend. Cut a Basic Black cs scalloped oval (2 1/2″) with the Layering Ovals. Glue the stamped Whisper White cs oval on the Basic Black cs scalloped oval. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the image oval layers over the ribbon centered on the card front.
Cut the Whisper White cs and Basic Black cs banner pieces. Stamp the sentiment ‘Enjoy the Simple Moments’ on the Whisper White cs banner piece in Memento Black ink and use Snips to flag the end. Use Snips to Flag the end of the Basic Black cs banner piece. Glue the stamped Whisper White cs banner centered on the Basic Black cs banner. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment banner layers to the card front. To finish the card add a Faceted Dot to the sentiment banner layer.
Here is the added Poppy Parade version of the same card.
Cut a Poppy Parade cs panel and glue it to the card base. Use a dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend to color the rooster’s feathers. Follow the above instructions to complete the image layer.
Cut the Whisper White cs, Basic Black cs , and Poppy Parade cs sentiment banner layers. Stamp the ‘Just a Note’ sentiment on the Whisper White cs banner and use Snips to flag the end. Flag the end of the Basic Black cs banner. Glue the stamped Whisper White cs banner centered on the Basic Black cs banner. Glue the sentiment banner layers centered on to the Poppy Parade cs banner piece. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment banner layers to the card front. To finish the card add a Faceted Dot to the sentiment banner layer.
