This Tuesday the lovely Joanne from HMSC (Huachuca Mountain Stamp Club) showed us the Faux Cloisonne` technique by heat embossing an image on sheets from magazines. I loved how my card turned out and am excited to share it with you! I used the flowers image & the sentiment from the Thankful Garden stamp set on a magazine image of a forest sunset.

THANKFUL GARDEN PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET
$24.00

Start by selecting a sheet from a magazine and a stamp set with the desired image. Add a piece of copy paper to the back of the magazine sheet for strength with a glue stick (so it dries smooth). Lightly dust the magazine sheet with the embossing buddy (anti-static powder). I then stamped the flower image from the Thankful Garden stamp set in Versamark on the magazine sheet, added the gold embossing powder, tapped off the excess, and melted the powder with the Heat Tool. When cooled, I fussy cut out the image with paper snips. I added Wink of Stella to the center of the flowers for sparkle.

Now that I have my main image, I chose cardstock colors that matched. I started with a Very Vanilla card base. I cut a Basic Black cardstock panel, a Blackberry Bliss cardstock panel, and a Calypso Coral cardstock panel. Glue the Calypso Coral cardstock panel onto the Blackberry Bliss cardstock panel and glue the Basic Black cardstock panel to the center of the Very Vanilla cardstock card base. Glue the fussy cut embossed flower image to the Calypso Coral cardstock panel. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the built panels to the card front.

On a magazine sheet (I used the same sheet as the flower image with the copy paper backing), lightly dust with the embossing buddy (anti-static powder). Stamp the sentiment from the Thankful Garden stamp set in Versamark on the dusted magazine sheet, added the gold embossing powder, tapped off the excess, and melted the powder with the Heat Tool. When cooled, I fussy cut out the sentiment with paper snips. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the sentiment to the card front in the lower right overlapping the bottom of the flower image. Add Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems to the card front.

Cut and add a Basic Black cardstock inside panel layer and a Very Vanilla cardstock inside panel to write your message. I added a strip of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and a strip of Calypso Coral cardstock down the inside panel and on the back of the card to pull the theme through. I stamped the sentiment from the Mixes Labels stamp set in Memento Black ink on the inside panel.

I hope you enjoyed my HMSC Thankful Garden Faux Cloisonne` Card card. You can order the Thankful Garden stamp set, the Mixed Labels stamp set, and the heat embossing supplies in my Online Store.
