Happy Forest Kindest Gnomes Birthday Card

Card Measurements and Supply List for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

For this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge I mixed the fabulous Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper (DSP), the Sale-A-Bration Rings of Love DSP, and the Kindest Gnomes bundle. I love all the mushrooms, acorns, and tree stumps in these DSP packs & the Happier Than Happy bundle and how they work with a gnome to create my whimsy #GDP350 card.

Start with a Soft Suede cardstock (cs) card base. Cut a Poppy Parade cs panel and a Happy Forest Friends DSP panel. Glue the Poppy Parade cs panel to the card base. Wrap the DSP panel with Old Olive Twill ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends to the back of the panel. Then glue the wrapped DSP panel to the card front.

Fussy cut out a large tree ring, leaves, and mushrooms from the Rings of Love DSP. Die cut a Vellum circle with the Layering Circles dies. Stamp the tree trunk and acorns from the Happier Than Happy stamp set in Soft Suede ink on Basic White cs and then use a Blender Pen to smooth out the color of the images. Use paper snips to fussy cut them out. Die cut a Soft Suede cs tree trunk outline with the Happy Forest dies. Use glue to add the Soft Suede cs tree trunk outline to the fussy cut tree trunk.

Stamp the gnome from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set in Soft Suede ink. Color the gnome with Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella to his eyes & beard. Glue the Rings of Love DSP large tree ring to the center of the card front overlapping the wrapped ribbon. Use glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals to build a scene with the fussy cut leaves, mushrooms, & acorns and the tree trunk & the gnome on the Vellum circle.

Stamp the sentiment from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set in Soft Suede ink on Basic White cs. Use Paper Snips to fussy cut out the sentiment. Use glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the sentiment across the built scene on the Vellum circle. Then use glue dots (hidden behind the images) to add the built Vellum circle to over the tree ring & wrapped ribbon. Add an acorn and a Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to the card front and Wink of Stella to the mushrooms for extra sparkle.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the Season of Chic stamp set in Soft Suede ink, stamp the mushrooms from the Happier Than Happy stamp set in Poppy Parade ink, and add a strip of Happy Forest Friends DSP to the inside & back of the card to pull the theme through.
