Global Design Project 206 – Sketch Challenge With the Playful Penguins

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch challenge and works perfectly with the new super cute Playful Penguins stamp set.

Start with a Basic Black cs card base. Cut a Whisper White cs panel and dry emboss it with the Subtle embossing folder. Using the cap of the light Basic Black Stampin’ Blend to gently flick the brush tip to add a splatter of ink on the embossed Whisper White cs panel.

Cut pieces of Black Satin ribbon and Whisper White Flax ribbon. Wrap the Black Satin ribbon around the splattered embossed Whisper White cs panel first using Tear & Tape to secure the ends on the back of the panel. Then wrap the Whisper White Flax ribbon around the panel slightly overlapping the Black Satin ribbon using Tear & Tape to secure the ends on back of the panel. Then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card base.

Die cut out a Basic Black cs circle with the Layering Circles dies. Dry emboss the Basic Black cs circle with the Subtle embossing folder. Use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the embossed Basic Black cs circle to the left side of the card front overlapping the ribbons.

Gently tap the Embossing Buddy on the Whisper White cs scrap where you plan to stamp your image. Stamp the penguin image from the Playful Penguins stamp set in Versamark on the Whisper White cs. Apply the Shimmer Black embossing powder on the stamped image and tap off the excess. Then melt the powder with the heat gun and then fussy cut out the image. Stamp the bow tie image from the Playful Penguins stamp set on Whisper White cs scrap in Pretty Peacock ink. Fussy cut out the bow tie with Paper Snips and then add Wink of Stella for added sparkle. Use a piece of a Black Stampin’ Dimensional to add it to the front of the fussy cut penguin.

Use the Embossing Buddy on the Whisper White cs sentiment, stamp the sentiment in Versamark, and then apply the Shimmer Black emboss powder tapping off the excess. Use the Heat Tool to melt the powder and then use Paper Snips to flag the end.

With Tear & Tape adhere the flagged sentiment panel across both ribbons and the embossed Basic Black cs circle. Use Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the fussy cut embossed penguin to the Basic Black cs circle and slightly overlapping the flagged sentiment panel. Add a small rhinestone to the penguin for his eye.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I also flicked the light Basic Black Stampin’ Blend to add a light splatter to the inside panel to pull the theme through.
