Global Design Project 197 – Color Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project is a lovely color challenge. I love the texture of the new Bricks & Mortar 3D embossing folder and couldn’t resist using it on the Terracotta Tile cs. I created a floral bouquet with the First Frost stamp set & Frosted Bouquet dies and added in some fun butterflies.

Start with a Seaside Spray cs card base. Dry emboss the front of the card base with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. Die cut out a Terracotta Tile cs stitched rectangle panel with the Stitched Rectangle dies. Dry emboss the Terracotta Tile cs stitched rectangle with the Bricks & Mortar 3D embossing folder (remember to use the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate or a shim to get the best impression).

Lightly use a sponge dauber to add Seaside Spray ink to the embossed Terracotta Tile cs stitched rectangle. Wrap a piece of Seaside Spray Scalloped Linen ribbon around the sponged embossed stitched rectangle using glue dots to secure the ends to the back and then use Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card base.

Ink the floral image from the First Frost stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink, use an aqua painter to pull some of the ink from the edges of the flowers. Use the Seaside Spray Stampin’ Write Marker to add ink directly to the rubber image- huff on the stamp – then stamp the image (two times – so you have two stamped floral images). Add Wink of Stella to the flower tips for sparkle. Use the Frosted Bouquet dies to die cut out the images. Use Paper Snips to snip one floral sprig apart and use glue dots to add the pieces to the other floral sprig building a bouquet. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the bouquet to the center of the card front over the ribbon.

Stamp the sentiment from the First Frost stamp set in Terracotta Tile on Whisper White cs. Dry emboss the stamped Whisper White cs sentiment layer with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the embossed sentiment layer across the bottom of the floral sprig overlapping the linen ribbon.

Stamp the small butterfly (6 times) from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in Terracotta Tile ink on Whisper White cs. Color the butterflies with the Seaside Spray Combo Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella for sparkle. Use the Butterfly Duet punch to punch out the butterflies. Glue them back to back – making 3 dual sided butterflies. Use the Bone Folder to curl the wings. Adhere the butterflies to the card front with glue dots.

Add 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots and rhinestones colored with the Dark Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blend to the butterflies. Tie a bow with a piece of Linen Thread and add it to the card front above the sentiment on the floral bouquet.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I added the sentiment and a butterfly to the inside panel and back of the card to pull the theme through.
