Global Design Project 191 – Theme Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project is a fun theme challenge. I decided to mix the new To A Wild Rose bundle with the lovely bee from the retiring Dragonfly Dreams stamp set for my card.

Start with a Petal Pink cs card base. Cut the Mossy Meadow cs and Very Vanilla cs panels. Stamp the sentiment from the Stitched All Around stamp set on the Very Vanilla cs panel in Mossy Meadow ink in the top left corner. Stamp the flower and leaf outline images from the To A Wild Rose stamp set in Memento Black ink on the Very Vanilla cs panel on the bottom right corner. Then to finish the flower use the other two flower stamp images in Petal Pink ink and finish the leaves with the other two leaf images in Old Olive ink. Add Wink of Stella to the flower’s centers for sparkle. Use a sponge dauber to add Petal Pink ink to the edges of the stamped Very Vanilla cs panel. Then on a scrap of Very Vanilla cs repeat the above creating two more flowers and two more leaves. Then using the Wild Rose Dies cut out the extra images on the scrap of Very Vanilla cs.

Glue the Mossy Meadow cs panel to the card base. Glue the stamped Very Vanilla cs panel to the the card front. Use glue, snail, and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the die cut flowers and leaves to the card front over the stamped flower & leaves on the Very Vanilla cs panel. Use Paper Snips to cut off the excess so the images are flush with the card front.

Dry emboss a scrap piece of Basic Black cs (big enough to die cut 3 bees) with the Subtle embossing folder. Use the bee die cut from the Detailed Dragonfly thinlit dies to cut out 3 bees. Then use the die cut bee as a guide to cut the scrap Vellum cs for the bee’s wings and from a scrap of So Saffron cs for the bee body with Paper Snips. Use glue to attach the Vellum cs and So Saffron cs to the bee. Add Wink of Stella to the bee’s wings for sparkle. Use glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the bees to the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Very Vanilla cs inside panel to write your message. I also stamped a bee in Memento Black ink to the inside panel and back of the card to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my Global Design Project card. You can order the beautiful To A Wild Rose Bundle when the new 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalog goes live at Noon on June 4th MST.
