Happy Thursday! I’m still having a great time creating with the gears I embossed over last weekend. You can read about how I dry & heat embossed the gears here.
Start with a Basic Gray card base. Cut a Fresh Fig cs panel and dry emboss it with the Subtle embossing folder. This is my go to embossing folder – I love how the Subtle embossing folder adds texture to any project. Glue the embossed Fresh Fig cs panel to the card front. Cut a Vellum cs layer and also run it though the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder. Use SNAIL to adhere the embossed Vellum cs centered on the card base. Cut out a scalloped circle from the Silver foil sheets with the Layering Circles framelit dies and dry emboss it with the Subtle embossing folder. Glue the embossed scalloped circle in the upper left hand corner overlapping the embossed Vellum layer.
Glue the Fresh Fig dry & heat embossed large gears piece to the center of card front overlapping the scalloped circle and the embossed Vellum layer.
Pat the Embossing Buddy over a piece of Silver Foil sheet. Using Versamark ink stamp the motorcycle from the One Wild Ride stamp set. Dip the stamped image into the black embossing powder. Tap off the excess and use the Heat Tool to melt the powder. Tip- Let the Heat Tool heat up for a moment before directing the heat toward the paper. And use a nice pair of flat tipped tweezers to hold the cardstock as you heat. Use Snips to fussy cut out the motorcycle and glue it centered on the card front overlapping the embossed Vellum and the dry & embossed gears.
Stamp the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays cling stamp set and One Wild Ride stamp set in Memento Black on Whisper White cs. Use Snips to cut them out leaving only a small white border. Use a dauber to add Basic Gray to the edges of the sentiment pieces. Use Stampin’ Dimentionals to the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment and adhere it to the top right of the card front. Use glue to add the Fresh Fig dry & heat embossed small gear to the card front, overlapping the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment. Use Snips to flag the ends of the sentiment from the One Wild Ride stamp set and then glue it to the top center of the card front overlapping both gear layers and the Silver Foil scalloped circle. To finish the card add 3 clear epoxy droplets colored with the Basic Black dark Stampin’ Blend.
Don’t forget to add your inside Whisper White cs layer for your message. I used the dauber to add Basic Gray to the edges of the Whisper White cs layer before gluing it to the inside of the card base. I also added an oil splotch from the Geared Up Garage stamp set in Basic Gray to the inside and back of the card to finish pulling the theme through.
