It’s Friday and I finally remembered to use the Classic Garage Metal Elements on today’s lovely Melon Mambo Gears Happy Birthday Card. I’m still loving creating with gears. You can read about how I made these dry & heat embossed the gears here.
Start with a Basic Gray cs card base. Cut a Melon Mambo cs panel and glue it to the card base. Cut a Basic Gray cs panel. Dry emboss the Basic Gray cs panel with the Subtle embossing folder and glue it to the card front. Cut out a Vellum cs scallop circle with the Layered Circles framelit dies and then dry emboss it with the Subtle embossing folder. Use Snail to adhere the Vellum scallop circle top centered on the card front. Glue the Melon Mambo dry & heat embossed large gear piece across the embossed Vellum scallop circle.
Pat the Embossing Buddy over a piece of Whisper White cs. Using Versamark ink stamp the motorcycle from the One Wild Ride stamp set. Dip the stamped image into the black embossing powder. Tap off the excess and use the Heat Tool to melt the powder. Tip- Let the Heat Tool heat up for a moment before directing the heat toward the paper. And use a nice pair of flat tipped tweezers to hold the cardstock as you heat. Use Snips to fussy cut out the motorcycle. Glue the motorcycle to the card front bottom center slightly overlapping the gears.
Stamp both the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set and the sentiment from the One Wild Ride stamp set in Memento Black on Whisper White cs. Use Snips to cut them out. Use Snips to flag the sentiment from the One Wild Ride stamp set. Add Basic Gray ink to the edges of the Whisper White sentiment layers with a dauber. Use Stampin’ Dimentionals to adhere the Itty Bitty Birthday sentiment to the top slight right of the card front across the embossed Vellum scallop circle. Use glue to add the small gears to the right side of the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set sentiment. Use a tear & tape to adhere a wrench from the Classic Garage Metal Elements to the sentiment layer.
Adhere the One Wild Ride stamp set Whisper White sentiment with a small piece of Stampin’ Dimensionals in the middle of the layer and glue on the rest – to create a wave in the layer – above and overlapping the Motorcycle, Vellum scallop circle, and gears.
Don’t forget to add your inside Whisper White cs layer for your message. I used the dauber to add Basic Gray to the edges of the Whisper White cs inside layer before gluing it to the inside of the card base. I also added an oil splotch from the Geared Up Garage stamp set in Basic Gray to the inside and back of the card to finish pulling the theme through.
