Bird Ballad DSP & Ornate Layer Thank You Cards

Card Measurements and Supply List for these project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

The retiring Bird Ballad DSP is one of my favorites and one I will miss. This gorgeous paper is perfect for fussy cutting and works fabulously with the delicate flowers & swirls of the Ornate Layers dies frame. You can watch my Facebook Live replay of this project here or on my YouTube Channel below.

Start with a So Saffron cs or Coastal Cabana cs card base. Cut a Whisper White cs panel and dry emboss it with the Scripty 3D embossing folder.

Wrap the embossed Whisper White cs panel with ribbon (Petal Pink Striped Organdy ribbon for the So Saffron cs and Bermuda Bay Mini Striped ribbon & Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim for the Coastal Cabana cs) using glue dots or snail to secure the ends on the back of the panel and then glue to the card base.

Die cut out a frame from Mossy Meadow cs for the So Saffron card and a Bermuda Bay cs for the Coastal Cabana cs card with the Ornate Layers dies. Use glue to attach the frame to the embossed Whisper White cs.

Cut a Bird Ballad DSP panel and glue it into the frame on the card front. Fussy cut out flowers from the Bird Ballad DSP and add them to the DSP panel and frame with glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I gently added Whisper White ink with a stamping dauber to the frame to soften the dark green.

Stamp the sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set on Whisper White cs with Mossy Meadow ink for the So Saffron card ink and Bermuda Bay ink for the Coastal Cabana card. Cut a So Saffron cs or Coastal Cabana cs sentiment layer panel and glue the sentiment panel to it. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the sentiment panels to the card front.

Tie a small bow with the ribbon (Petal Pink Striped Organdy ribbon for the So Saffron card and Bermuda Bay Mini Striped ribbon & Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim for the Coastal Cabana card) and use glue dots to attach it to the right side of the frame overlapping the ribbon. Add Wink of Stella to the birds and rhinestones to the flowers centers for sparkle.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message.

I added an embossed Whisper White cs strip to the back of the So Saffron card.

I stamped the sentiment and added fussy cut Bird Ballad DSP flowers to the inside panel and back of the card to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my Bird Ballad DSP & Ornate Layer Thank You cards. You can purchase the Bird Ballad DSP, Free As A Bird stamp set, and the Ornate Layers dies in my Online Store.

Don’t wait too long to get the Bird Ballad DSP because it’s retiring and Last Chance Products  are only available until June 2nd while supplies last.
