The Zany Zoo bundle is totes adorbs!!! These super cute critters are sure to bring a smile when used on your paper crafting projects! Luckily this Suite was included in the Demonstrator Pre-Order and I was able to use the fantastic crooning turtle and the beautiful Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP) to create my swap. If you haven’t heard the term before, a swap is a when you make a pre-determined number of identical cards and trade with others who have also made cards to trade. It’s a wonderful way to get ideas and samples to show off the awesomeness of the new Stampin’ Up! products.
I went live in both Facebook & YouTube for the first time and it was a bit of a hot mess. You can watch the replay of the Facebook Lives here, here, & here and the YouTube Lives here & here or you can watch the stitched together video on my YouTube channel below. The sound is still a little bit laggy but it’s one video. I showed off the fabulous swap cards first and then showed you how to make my swap card starting at 17:24 (you can click the time within the video section).
Start with a Pretty Peacock cardstock card base. Cut a Garden Green cardstock panel and a Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper panel. Glue the panels together and then glue them to the card base.
Die cut a Pretty Peacock cardstock banner with the Zany Zoo dies. Die cut a Basic White cardstock stitched circle with the Stylish Shapes dies. Dry emboss the Basic White cardstock stitched circle with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. Use Stampin’ Seal to add the Pretty Peacock cardstock banner to the back of the embossed stitched circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the embossed stitched circle to the bottom right corner of the card front.
Stamp the turtle from the Zany Zoo stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Die cut out the turtle with the Zany Zoo dies. Color the turtle with the Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella for sparkle. Use glue dots and a Stampin’ Dimensional (cut to size) to add the turtle to the card front overlapping the lower right side of the embossed stitched circle. Die cut a Basic White cardstock stitched banner with the Stylish Shapes dies. Stamp the sentiment from the Zany Zoo stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink on the stitched banner close to the flagged end. Then use the same die from the Stylish Shapes dies to shorten the banner by laying it across the stitched banner and rerunning it though your die cutting machine giving it a matching stitched end. Then use glue dots and a Stampin’ Dimensional to add the stitched sentiment banner to the card front on overlapping the bottom left side of embossed stitched circle and Pretty Peacock cardstock banner. Add Iridescent rhinestones to the card front around the left side of the stitched circle for extra sparkle.
Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Add a strip of Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper, stamp the sentiment from the Sentimental Park stamp set & the musical notes from the Zany Zoo stamp set in Pretty Peacock to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
