Zany Zoo Raccoon Shaker Birthday Card

For this week’s Global Design Project Birthday Theme Challenge I created a fun shaker card with the Zany Zoo Bundle, Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the Loose Silver Sequins. I colored the adorable raccoon from the Zany Zoo stamp set and the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper with the fabulous new 2023-2025 In Colors Stampin’ Blends.

Start with a Copper Clay cardstock card base. Cut a Boho Blue cardstock panel and a Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper panel. Color the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper panel with Stampin’ Blends. Glue the colored Designer Series Paper panel to the Boho Blue panel and then wrap them with Boho Blue Textured ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends to back of the panels. Glue the wrapped panels to the card base.

Die cut a front Pebbled Path cardstock stitched front frame using the largest & 2nd largest stitched circles from the Stylish Shapes dies. Die cut a Pebbled Path cardstock back stitched circle and a Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Paper (acetate or window sheet) stitched circle with the largest stitched circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies. Glue the Pebbled Path cardstock stitched front frame to the Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Paper stitched circle (silver side showing).

Then add foam adhesive strips completely around the edge of the Pebbled Path cardstock back stitched circle making sure that there are no gaps. Add a small amount of the Loose Silver Sequins to the center of the back stitched circle in a pile. Carefully remove the foam adhesive strip backing and then adhere the built frame to the top of the back cardstock stitched circle, sealing the sequins in and creating the shaker. Use Tear & Tape to add the shaker to the right side of the card front overlapping the wrapped ribbon.

Stamp the raccoon from the Zany Zoo stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock, die cut the raccoon out with the Zany Zoo dies, then color it with Stampin’ Blends, and add Wink of Stella for sparkle. Use glue dots to add the colored die cut raccoon to the left side of the shaker. Stamp the sentiment from the Sentimental Park stamp set in Boho Blue ink on Basic White cardstock. Fussy cut out and separate the sentiments with paper snips. Use glue dots to add both sentiments to the right side of the shaker so it looks like they would overlap the wrapped ribbon. Tie a bow with the Boho Blue Textured ribbon and use glue dots to add the bow to the left side of the shaker overlapping the wrapped ribbon. Add Loose Silver Sequins to the card front with glue dots.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Add a colored strip of Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through. Also stamp the sentiment from the Sentimental Park stamp set in Boho Blue ink and just the balloons (from the raccoon image) from the Zany Zoo stamp set in Memento Black ink to the inside & back of the card. Color the balloons with Stampin’ Blends and Wink of Stella for sparkle.

Pebbled Path cs stitched circles – two – one made into a frame and the one for the back – die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.
Gold Celebrations Specialty DSP stitched circle – die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.
Basic White cs raccoon – die cut with the Zany Zoo dies.
Basic White cs sentiments – fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3/78.
