Week One of Twelve Weeks of Halloween – Spooky Totes

I love Halloween and the 2019 Holiday Catalog has a Spooktacular selection of products to make this Halloween festive. For Week 1 of my 12 Weeks of Halloween I used the Monster Bash DSP to create these super cute Spooky Totes. I made this project during a special Facebook Live – you can watch the replay here. Or watch the replay on my YouTube channel here.

Cut the Basic Black cs base – score 3/4″ on all sides.
Cut along the 4 score lines to create the flaps.
Add Tear & Tape to the flaps.
Build the Tote’s base.
Add Tear & Tape to the Monster Bash DSP Tote’s body piece. Be sure that you keep the images going the right direction.
Carefully wrap the body DSP piece around the base’s bottom edge.
Peel off the side Tear & Tape and secure the body piece.
Use Tear & Tape to adhere the Basic Black cs bottom strip by wrapping it around the bottom base edge.
Again use Tear & Tape on the Basic Black 3/8″ Scalloped ribbon and wrap it around the base across the seam of the Basic Black strip and DSP body.
Wrap the ribbon around the base across the seam of the Basic Black strip and DSP body.
Use the 1 1/2 Circle Punch to punch out the handle slots – less than half.
Then use the punched piece as a template – so each side matches.
Punch out the handles from Basic Black cs – start by punching out a 1 1/2″ circle and then punch out a 2″ circle by centering over the 1 1/2″ circle hole (4 handles).
Adhere the 4 handles to the tote – making sure that none of the DSP shows through.
Decorate the Tote’s any way you want – I added a Ornate Frames Dies tag from the Monster Bash DSP and a Tiny Keepsakes bundle tag on Whisper White cs in Memento Black ink.
You can add a flower made with 1 1/8″ Scalloped circle punch – 3 Basic Black cs punched scalloped circles – use paper snips to cut each scallop creating petals and then glue together with a Faceted Dot in the middle.
I added a Very Vanilla Scalloped ribbon and the separated threads of the Whisper White Flax ribbon.
