Thursday’s Double Feature: New Horizons DSP Card & Tags with the Sweet Little Boxes

Card Measurements, Supply List, and printable PDF tutorial for these projects are found at the bottom of this blog post.

The New Horizons Designer Series Paper in one of my January-June 2022 Mini Catalog favorites! I love the gorgeous water color abstract designs. For this week’s Thursday’s Double Feature I have two ideas on how to use the fun Sweet Little Boxes. I covered the box with the New Horizon DSP and created a card that fits inside as well as a sleeve that can fit a credit card sized gift card or four tags. You can watch my Facebook Live replay of these projects on my Facebook page here or on my YouTube channel below.

To create the tags I die cut Misty Moonlight cardstock tag bases with the Tailor Made Tags. I cut New Horizons DSP panels and stamped the sentiments from the Elegantly Said stamp set & Paradise Palms stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink. I added White Crinkled Seam-Bidding ribbon and the Misty Moonlight/ Silver Baker’s Twine from the Flowers of Every Season combo ribbon pack. I pulled the Misty Moonlight/ Silver Baker’s Twine apart so I could just attach the Misty Moonlight Baker’s Twine.

I decorated the Sweet Little Box with Misty Moonlight cs and New Horizons Designer Series Paper.

I created the tag pull but punching a Misty Moonlight cardstock label with the Label Me Fancy punch. I also punched a whole at the top of one end and then fit it against the top of the center of the lid. I glued the label in place leaving the end with the whole punch to stick up to create the pull. I threaded the White Crinkled Seam-Bidding ribbon and the Misty Moonlight/ Silver Baker’s Twine from the Flowers of Every Season combo ribbon pack through the whole in the end.

To create the card I started with a Misty Moonlight cs card base. I cut a scrape piece of the New Horizons DSP for the front panel. I then used the mountain shaped image from the Paradise Palms stamp set to recreate a Blackberry Bliss ink shoreline. You can use a post it note to mask off the bottom to create a straight line. I used Blending Brushes to add Polished Pink ink and Bumblebee ink to the sky to match the other New Horizons DSP panels. Use glue to add the stamped panel to the card base.

I stamped the sentiment from the Paradise Palms stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White cs. I used paper snips to fussy cut the sentiment out and then used a Stampin’ Dimensional to add it to the bottom right corner of card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped the sentiment from the Paradise Palms stamp set and added a strip of DSP to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

To create the sleeve cut a Misty Moonlight cs sleeve base. Cut a New Horizons DSP wrap panel and then wrap it around the lower part of the folded sleeve base. Just be sure not to wrap it too tight. Use your bone folder to make your creases crisp and then use glue to attach the DSP wrap to the cardstock sleeve.

You can either add a gift card to the sleeve or slip the tags into the sleeve before adding to the decorated Sweet Little Box.
