Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals with the Painted Christmas DSP Card

Card Measurements, Supply List, and printable PDF tutorial for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

The beautiful Poinsettia Petals stamp set from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog is a wonderful set of images and sentiments that has made it to my keeper shelf. There is also a fabulous set of coordinating dies – the Poinsettia Dies– that compliment this stamp set. I have a lovely card made with this stamp set for Day 5 of my 12 Days of Christmas blog challenge.

Start with an Old Olive cs card base. Cut a Painted Christmas DSP panel and a Vellum cs panel. I added a small bit of Stampin’ Seal to the center of the DSP to hold the Vellum in place and then wrapped the panels with Linen Thread using more Stampin’ Seal help secure the thread to the back of the DSP panel. Tie the Linen Thread into a small bow on the card front.

Die cut a Basic White cs stitched scalloped rectangle with the Scalloped Contours dies. Stamp the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Old Olive ink on the bottom right of the stitched scalloped rectangle. Attach the stitched scalloped rectangle on the bottom right side of the card front tucked under the wrapped thread with glue.

Stamp the flowers & leaves from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Memento Black in on Basic White cs. Stamp the inside leaf image filling the stamped image with Old Olive ink. Then finish coloring the leaves and the flowers with Stampin’ Blends. Add Wink of Stella to parts of the flower petals for extra sparkle. Add the flowers and leaves to the card front overlapping the stitched scalloped rectangle and tucked under the wrapped thread with glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add Wonderful Gems to the flower centers and the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Old Olive ink. Stamp and color the flowers & leaves to the sides of the inside panel (do this before gluing the inside panel in place).

I also added the Stampin’ Up! copyright stamp from the Handmade for You stamp set to adhere to the Angel Policy.

I also added a strip of DSP to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
