Stampin’ Up! Clever Cats Pinwheel Tower Card

Card Measurements, Supply List, and printable PDF tutorial are found after each project.

For Day 8 of my 13 Days of Halloween I have a fun Clever Cats Pinwheel Tower card. I adore the Clever Cats stamp set in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog and paired it with my favorite Sale-A-Bration Beautifully Penned DSP. You can watch the my Facebook Live reply on my Facebook page here or watch it on my YouTube channel below.

Start by cutting, scoring, and building your Basic Black cs tower base. You have 4 score lines – the first is the flap that folds under and attaches to the card base to create your tower center. Use Tear & Tape on the first score line flap, fold under, and then fold the card base at third score line – so that the first flap folded under will attach to the card base.

Create your tower by attaching the first flap to the card base at the third score line (see video).

Use the bone folder to burnish all your score marks. Cut your three Basic Black cs wing panels. Then stand your card base up and use glue to attach the wing panels.

Use glue to attach your wings making sure that they are on straight.
Before gluing the panels to the wings be sure that they will be opening in the direction you want and then keep in mind your label & image placement if you don’t want it to show on the right hand panel that peeks out.
I stamped the bats from the Clever Cats stamp set in Memento Black ink on the smaller Beautifully Penned DSP panel before gluing to the pinwheel tower’s wing panel.

Cut all your Designer Series Paper panel pieces. Lay out your DSP panel in pairs – one small panel & larger panel – making four piles and include your stamped labels & fussy cut Clever Cat stamp set images in the piles. Be sure if you choose to stamp on the DSP panels that you do so before gluing them to the pinwheel tower panels.

I added a Cute Halloween DSP panel to the left side wing panel and stamped the sentiment & then fussy cut it out & glued it to the label.

Use glue to attach all your panel piles to the pinwheel tower wing panels. I didn’t use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach any of my images because it will add extra thickness to the card when folded – making it harder to fit in an envelope and mail.

Die cut a Vellum cs spider web with the Frightful Tags dies gluing it to the Beautifully Penned DSP panel and stamp the spider from the Clever Cats stamp set in Memento Black ink before gluing the panel to the pinwheel tower wing panel. I fussy cut out another stamped spider on Basic White cs and added it to the web with a glue dot.
I also added the Stampin’ Up! copyright stamp from the Handmade for You stamp set to adhere to the Angel Policy.

For this Pinwheel Tower Card I created a back panel similar to the one on my regular cards. I did stamp the sentiment from the Frightfully Cute stamp set across the panel – and it is slightly too long and the end of the sentiment can be seen when folded – so keep that in mind when stamping on the large DSP panels. I also added Wink of Stella to the images for extra sparkle.

I also made this fun Cute Halloween DSP 5″ x 7″ Pinwheel Tower card inspired by Patty Bennett’s Penguin Place Pinwheel card – you can check out her card here.

I created this 5″ x 7″ Basic Black cs card base the same as the smaller one above just bigger.

I followed the same steps as above – making four panel piles that included my stamped labels & fussy cut Cute Halloween DSP images. I used both sides of a piece of Cute Halloween DSP to create each set of panels. This card opens so the peeking out panel is on the left side when folded and you can see the images from the previous panel.

Again I glued on my panel piles and didn’t use Stampin’ Dimensionals to cut down on the card’s thickness.

I didn’t create a back for this card so it is similar to an never-ending card. I added Wink of Stella to the images for extra sparkle.

Cute Halloween DSP panels – two larger at 4 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ and two small at 4 3/4″ x 2 1/4″.
