Rain Or Shine Specialty DSP Card

Card Measurement and Supply List for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

For this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge I used the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog now retired Rain Or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper with the Playing in the Rain bundle (the stamp set & dies will be carrying over separately). I am going to miss this gorgeous Specialty Designer Series Paper and all the fun elements I enjoyed fussy cutting out for my projects. I was so happy to play with this Specialty Designer Series Paper one last time.

Start with a Flirty Flamingo cardstock card base. Cut the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper full & the smaller front panel. Glue the smaller panel to the bottom of the larger panel. Wrap the panels with Gray Granite Shimmer ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ribbons ends to the back of the panel. Glue the wrapped panel to the card front.

Die cut out a Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series fox with the Playing in the Rain dies. Die cut a scalloped stitched Vellum cardstock panel with the Scalloped Contours dies. Fussy cut out clouds and flowers from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper with paper snips. Add the die cut fox to the lower left side of the scalloped stitched Vellum cardstock panel but don’t remove the backing on the Stampin’ Dimensionals so only the bottom of the fox is adhered to the panel. Add Stampin’ Seal to the back of the scalloped stitched Vellum cardstock panel where the fox will hide the adhesive. Then gently slip the Vellum cardstock panel under the wrapped ribbon and lift the die cut fox so the fox will overlap the wrapped ribbon. Gently pull off the Stampin’ Dimensionals backing to completely adhere the fox to the Vellum cardstock panel. Use glue to slip fussy cut flowers under both bottom edges and the fussy cut clouds to the top of the Vellum cardstock panel. Use glue dots to add more fussy cut flowers and clouds over the Vellum cardstock panel overlapping the other fussy cut flowers and clouds. Add Wink of Stella to the clouds, fox, and flower centers for sparkle.

Stamp the sentiment from the Playing in the Rain stamp set in Basic Gray ink on Basic White cardstock. Fussy cut out the sentiment with paper snips. Use Stampin’ Seal to add a small folded Gray Granite Shimmer ribbon to the back of the sentiment. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the sentiment to the card front on the right side of the fox slightly overlapping the wrapped ribbon. Add Iridescent rhinestones to the card front around the sentiment.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Add a strip of Specialty Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card.

I added the Stampin’ Up! copyright stamp from the new Stamped With Love stamp set (available starting May 2nd) to adhere to the Angel Policy.

I also fussy cut out more Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper clouds & flowers to add to the inside and back of the card as well as a pig and a turtle to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my #GDP391 Rain Or Shine Specialty DSP card. You can order the Playing in the Rain bundle and the Scalloped Contours dies in my Online Store.
