Pure Magic Mermaid Birthday Card

For this week’s Global Design Project color challenge I created a lovely mermaid card with the fabulous 2022-2023 Annual Catalog Pure Magic stamp set.

Start with a Thick Basic White cardstock card base. Cut a Basic White cardstock panel, dry emboss it with the Seashells 3D embossing folder, and then glue it to the card base. Die cut a Sorbet Sweet cardstock embossed circle with the Beautiful Shapes dies and add it to the lower right side of the card front with glue. Stamp both of the seaweed images from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set in 1st & 2nd generation (stamped off) Soft Succulent ink on Basic White cardstock and then die cut the images out with the Seaside Seashells dies. Stamp the seashell from the Friendship Are Like Seashells stamp in Petal Pink ink on Basic White cardstock and fussy cut out with paper snips.

Stamp the mermaid from the Pure Magic stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Color the image with Stampin’ Blends and then fussy cut the colored image with paper snips. Add Wink of Stella to the seashell and the mermaid for extra sparkle. Stamp the sentiment from the Friendship Are Like Seashells in Soft Succulent ink on Basic White cardstock and fussy cut with paper snips.

Use glue dots to add the fussy cut sentiment across the bottom of the Sweet Sorbet cardstock circle. Add the seaweeds and seashell to the top center of the Sweet Sorbet cardstock circle. Use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the mermaid to the card front above the sentiment overlapping the seaweed & seashell. Add Iridescent rhinestones to the card front on the Sweet Sorbet cardstock circle.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment in Soft Succulent ink & the seashell in Petal Pink ink from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set and add a strip of embossed Basic White cardstock to the inside & back of the card to pull the theme through.

Basic White cs seaweed and shell – die cut with the Seaside Seashells dies and fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs mermaid – fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs sentiment panel – fussy cut with paper snips.
Basic White cs inside panel – 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.
