Positive Thoughts 2018 – 2020 In Color Cards: Card 4

I created a set of 4 cards for the Stamping Lovelies color challenge. I started by making my own DSP using the Positive Thoughts stamp set and the 2018- 2019 In Colors. These bright and cheery colors are retiring in June so don’t wait to stock up on your favorites. You can see all the 2018 – 2020 In Color products here in my Online Store.

I made my own DSP by stamping the images on a full sheet of Whisper White cs.

I colored the butterflies with the Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blend. I cut the stamped Whisper White cs sheet (8 1/2″ x 11″) into four – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ pieces to use on each card.

Start with a Grapefruit Grove cs card base. Cut a Pineapple Punch cs panel, dry emboss it with the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder (don’t forget to use the blue 3D Embossing Folder Plate to get the best impression), and glue it to the card base.

Trim down the stamped Whisper White cs panel (3″ x 4″). Cut two pieces of Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain ribbon to wrap around the front of the panel using glue dots to secure the ends to the back of the panel. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the wrapped panel to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set in Grapefruit Grove ink on Whisper Whisper cs. Punch out the sentiment with Label Me Fancy punch. Die cut out a Grapefruit Grove cs edge swirl with the Painted Labels dies. Punch a Vellum cs label with the Label Me Lovely punch.

Use glue dots to adhere the Vellum cs label to the stamped Whisper White cs panel slightly to the right of center overlapping the ribbon. Use glue to adhere the Grapefruit Grove edge swirl to the bottom edge of the sentiment layer. Use Paper Snips to trim off the excess edge swirl. Adhere the sentiment label with the edge swirl to the center of the Vellum cs label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tie a bow with another piece of Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain ribbon and attach it to the ribbon on the left side of the sentiment with glue dots. Color pearls with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend and add them to the sentiment layer.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I also stamped the sentiment and added an embossed Pineapple Punch cs strip to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
