Have A Hoot … Spiders Oh My Card

Card Measurements, Supply List, and printable PDF tutorial for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

This week’s Global Design Project is to CASE the fabulous card by Kayla McCreadie. I used the super adorable Have A Hoot bundle with the die cut spider web as the background image to create my card.

HAVE A HOOT BUNDLE (ENGLISH)
$51.25

Start with a Basic Gray cs card base. Cut a Basic Black cs panel and Basic Gray cs panel. Die cut a bunch (16) Basic Black cs spider webs with the Peek-A-Hoot dies. Use glue to add the Basic Black cs webs to the Basic Gray cs panel (use the craft sheet when applying glue to the webs to help contain any excess glue from getting all over your work surface). Use paper snips to cut off the excess web, glue the Basic Gray cs panel to the Basic Black cs panel, and then glue the panels to the card base.

Glue the webs to the Basic Gray cs panel and then snip off the excess webs to the edges are even.

Die cut a Basic Black cs scalloped oval and a Whisper White cs oval with the Layering Oval dies. Stamp the image from the Have A Hoot stamp set. Color the tree with the Stampin’ Blends. Stamp the sentiment from the Ghoulish Goodies stamp set in Memento Black ink at the top and bottom center of the Whisper White cs oval.

Stamp the image from the Have A Hoot stamp set a second time in Memento Black ink on Whisper White cs. Die cut the owl & spider out with the Peek-A-Hoot dies. Color the owl & spider with the Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella to his eyes for sparkles. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the colored owl over the stamped image and use a glue dot to adhere the die cut spider. Cut a small piece of Metallic Mesh ribbon loop one end and use Stampin’ Seal to adhere it to the Basic Black cs scalloped oval. Cut a piece of Black Glittered Organdy ribbon loop one end and use glue dots to attach it across the Metallic Mesh ribbon. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the colored Whisper White cs image oval over the ribbon to the Basic Black cs scalloped oval.

Use Stampin’ Seal to attach the ovals to the bottom left slightly center of the card front. Use the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends to color rhinestones and add them to the card front on the webs.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiments from the Wish for Everything stamp set in Memento Black ink. I also added a die cut Basic Black cs web and stamped the spider image from the Ghoulish Goodies stamp set in Memento Black ink on the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
