The lovely Lorraine from Loraine’s Crafting Corner gave me this color challenge in May, right before my Hawaiian vacation, and I’m finally sharing this card. I used the fabulous Butterfly Wishes stamp set with the Stampin’ Write Markers and my Stamparatus to create my color challenge card.
Start with a Whisper White cs card base. Cut a Blueberry Bushel Nobel Peacock foil sheet panel, dry emboss it with the new Scripty 3D embossing folder -don’t forget to use the new 3D Embossing Plate (#149658 $10.00 to make your embossing sandwich) – and then glue the panel to the card base.
Cut the Whisper White cs and Poppy Parade cs panels. Use the Stamparatus and Stampin’ Write Markers to stamp the branch with flowers on the Whisper White cs panel – color each piece with the markers – be sure to use the Simple Shammy to clean your stamp without removing it from the Stamparatus plate and losing your positioning. Glue the stamped Whisper White cs layer panel to the Poppy Parade cs layer panel. Wrap the image panel with the 5/8″ Whisper White Flax ribbon, securing the ends with Tear & Tape on the back, and then glue the layered image panel to the card front.
Stamp the butterfly in Blueberry Bushel ink on Whisper White cs. With the Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend color the dots on the butterfly. Add Wink of Stella to the butterfly’s wings for sparkle. Use Paper Snips to fussy cut out the butterfly and then use the Bone Folder to gently curl the wings. Attach the butterfly to the stamped Whisper White cs layer with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Color Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend and add them to the butterfly with the Take Your Pick tool.
Stamp the sentiment from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set on Whisper White cs in Blueberry Bushel ink. Use Paper Snips to closely cut out the sentiment and then use Tear & Tape to adhere it over the Flax ribbon.
I added strips of the embossed Blueberry Bushel Noble Peacock foil sheet to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
